I know you're being obtuse, but to repeat something that's been repeated a thousand times. Pope is in his second year with THREE injuries and started his tenure here with an empty cupboard. Enough.
LMAO, coaches start with bare cupboard every year now, particularly when you move jobs. However, the portal allows you to bring players with you. Why didn't Pope's follow?

Had 22 million at least to spend this year and we have no stars, no backups for the 3rd stringers we have starting, and now the fund are using but "wE hAvE iNjUrED pLAyeRs" as an excuse. We got played by every major recuirt and highly ranked transfer portal player we recruited aside from injured JQ.

Yea, no matter how hard you suck him, it's still all on Pope!

@ vandy then @ arkansas............

If we have a chance to win either, I'd be estatic.

Vandy has quietly put together a good team and of course ole cal is at it at arkansas..... He beat us last year so the odds should sway towards us, but then again, they play well at home.
I would say there’s a good chance to win either of those games

I only saw one poster mention that going from 9-6 to 20-11 with the tough SEC schedule would be considered a good coaching job by Pope. Didn’t see anyone jumping for joy.

I know misery loves company and there’s lots of company on this board.

Hypothetically, what if these guys do something wild like go 9-3 over these next 12 and win the SECT to finish the year 25-9 with a 3-4 seed? Would it be acceptable to be excited heading to March or must we remain angry because the overall record wasn’t pretty enough and November/December was a nightmare?
That would be phenomenal. All I'm asking for is improvement over last season. If he can't manage that, then idk what we're doing here

Do you think adding JQ to the Gonzaga game would have helped us win instead of getting beat by almost 40?
I think complaining after we have won four in a row makes "fans" look like cowards who stick with a narrative over supporting the team

I know a lot of people hate on Noah, but the simple fact is he is arguably the best shooter on the team. Putting him on the floor adds another shooter in which the opponent has to respect so it further spreads the floor. With the offense we are running at present, it would only further spread the floor. I know that he has his limitations, but it also puts a strain on a defense if we come out with a couple guys hitting. We might be able to live with a little bit of shortcoming on defense if it lets us spread the floor in order to give many shooters open shots and create wide driving lanes.

When we have 3 of Chandler, Aberdeen, Oweh, Jelavic, Johnson, and Noah on the floor, somebody’s gonna have to come out of that lane. Sorry Dioubate and Garrison, you guys defend, rebound, and kept order out to about 10-12 ft from the basket.

For the record you’ll never catch me complaining after a L.
The next day is when reality sets in and the complaining begins
We are basically a slightly above average BYU team. Not bad but this is not what we signed up for. It’s not a bad thing to feel that way

Kam is only averaging 22 minutes a game. Moreno, Chandler and Dioubate are averaging just around 20 minutes a game. JJ only average 10 minutes a game. We easily have the minutes to make his minutes up.
Yeah, but the way this team operates, someone different steps up every game. Kam was that guy a couple times.
You can only lose so many key guys before it ends up costing you wins.

Also while I know this isn't "UK standards" we really need to reevaluate things in terms of record and what is good and what isn't. The SEC is brutal again this season. A record of say 11-7 doesn't sound good. Heck it's two games going the wrong way to a .500 record. But with teams beating each other in this conference 11-7 could also mean the 2nd best SEC or the 3rd best SEC team.

Again not typical "UK standards" but not horrendous either.
Plus, you consider "UK standards" when looking back on a season, right? You have to understand the reality of where you're at. And where this team is at, in my opinion, is not a Top 20 team given the personnel losses. Roster construction absolutely falls on a coach - it's why we should have gotten rid of Calipari much sooner - but some don't seem to understand that expecting a team to just win because UK is "supposed to" doesn't work in reality.

Cowboy. In your opinion, has Pope at any time in his 2 seasons here embarrassed the program?
No I do not. I think you guys embarrass the program. There are fanbases in sports that don't quit on their team after a few losses. There are fanbases that dont pretend a coach hasn't had a massive amount of injuries to his roster. I think the folks who go that route make us look terrible to any potential recruit or coach

Lulz, who did we beat and where are they ranked currently? Lulz. Trolls that boast about meaningless wins only diminish the program and lower the expectations.
"Meaningless wins"..... 4-2 in the SEC, tied for 3rd a game back of 1st after starting 0-2.

Your troll status is proven

Noah is not Seth Curry but I do think he may surprise some people a little bit if he starts getting 12 to 15 minutes per game

Lol, so who did we beat and where are they currently ranked? If you're scared to answer, thats says a lot.

Promoting meaningless wins is the classic troll job. Thank you!

Yeah but then again some of it gets placed on Pope. Obviously we knew when we got JQ that we were taking a bit of a risk that he would at some point be healthy. We knew he'd be missing a significant part of the season but took the risk he'd be better by now and in hindsight that might have been a bit silly on Pope/coaching staffs part.

That being said, I mean injuries to guys like Lowe and Williams are a bit more unforunate. We expected to have them full season and I think it's hard to place injuries on a specific coach. You take any primary ball handler off any other team and they aren't the same.

But yeah in general I agree. This was a team that many thought were more talented than they actually were.

I'm not so sure about Cal. I mean yeah there was a dropoff but I can't help but think those Cal teams even in his later tenure here were still more talented than the two teams that Pope has pulled in. And they were certainly teams that should have gone deeper in the tournament. They certainly had the talent. Two of the last three years netted us 2 and 3 seeds. Those aren't bad seasons. Those are definitely just outside contenders. We just happened to choke in March.........and that is the reason he had to go. I never worried about Cal getting players. I do worry about that with Pope and it's troubling to me.

No we should not reevaluate. Kentucky has standards and they shall not be infringed. If a coach can’t meet the standard, then we replace them, and shall keep replacing them till we meet the standard.

Right and I said I was against booing your own team. It’s classless and scummy.
But…it’s happened more this season than ever before in UK history. You can’t minimize that.
Do you are against it...I don't minimize it...but it emphasizes why I am embarrassed for our fanbase and not our coach.
Booing the team, going after Coach Popes family, going after Cal's family...MP is a fine man and one of our own. Cal won a title for us and did a ton of charity work in the state. We are hanging on to the all time win list, but we lost the title of Best Fanbase when we started condoning behavior like that
