now that Amile is officially out, how far do you see Duke going in the NCAA's? I know much of their advancement hinges on the seedlings and match-ups, but what would you predict as of now?

I see 2nd round to Sweet 16.

Depending on the match ups as you stated, I see Sweet 16 and out.. I think depth will really become an issue at that point. Man I hope this team proves me wrong!

Same here, which I'm fine with coming off a national championship and knowing what we have next year. Fun times ahead next season. :)

Just play the best we can. Once we get through the ACC tourney and if we can get through the first two rounds then we can get a little rest. I t would be nice if we can get 10 or so solid minutes from Chase. He's very capable of doing this. It's up to him. No matter what happens from this point on I'm proud of this team. I'm a Duke fan no matter what. OFC

I honestly believe we need to start chase.. We seriously need him now worse then ever and he's shown he is adequate when he gets burn

My expectations are for them to play hard. I know that's a lame answer but it's how I feel. We're capable of beating anybody, but we're also capable of going home early.

I don't feel starting Chase makes us better in any regard. He just needs to give us 10-15 minutes every night and I'll be happy.

Sweet sixteen would be a success considering the season up till now. But I would not be overly surprised to see it be a game fewer or a game more.

I wish there was a way the Staff could figure out a way to maximize the time that Chase could spend on the floor with Marshall. I know Chase has to spell Marshall for rest, but his confidence seems to double when he is on the floor with him.
That being said, there is no way to know when the fatigue factor will take over. As has been said, this team is capable of beating anyone, but also being put out in the first round.
If we can get to the Sweet 16, anything can happen, and I really like our chances. With one (1) more body to step up (do you hear me Chase), the elite 8 is not out of the question.
Go Duke!!

I just think the starting him might ease his nerves more and not be an iMessage fouls. 10-15 min is what I want too

We won't make the Elite 8. DT and Luke aren't ready for that. That's 1/3 of our team.

We played tough tonight and almost swept a 1 seed and got owned on the boards. We can make a run

Start Jeter along with Plumlee, Ingram, Kennard and Allen. Think about it Ingram, Allen and Kennard is definitely enough offense with Thornton and Jones coming off the bench. With Jeter/Plumlee and Ingram on the floor together we rebound A WHOLE LOT BETTER. We don't need Jeter to score just play defense and rebound.

It all depends on the match-ups. If we square off against a big and physical team such as Purdue in the 2nd round we will be in a lot of trouble. Not saying that we aren't able to beat bigger teams, but are chances are much better if we get a draw where we play against smaller teams that can't dominate us on the boards like UNC did.

The problem is the fact that this will probably happen in the big tourney, I understand that UNC is big across the line and not many teams are like that, but there are a few and that will get us. If we can get hot and shoot lights out for 2 weeks we have a chance, but our room for error is very slim in the sweet 16 and beyond.

I am hoping for a deep run in both tournaments. Honestly, a ACC tourney championship for this team would be really special. I mean, it would mean just as much to me as winning the 5th last year. I know for some people that may not make any sense, but I would really love to see these kids win four games in D.C. LET'S GO DUKE!!!!!!

I agree with your thinking, but that would only work if Jeter could actually hold onto a rebound.

Duke has to give some of Matt's minutes to either Jeter or Obi . Ingram , Grayson and Kennard can come off screens and get open.
Ingram will be able to stay on the floor longer than 29 minutes by not having to play power forward the whole time.
I predict Coach K will make some change Wednesday.

If we play a lot of teams with wing players then we can make a big run. I like to see us in Kansas bracket I think could best them

I like our chances better in the NCAAT than in the ACCT. I think we win Wednesday over WF or NCSU, are unlikely to advance past a fresh ND team on Thursday, and would get absolutely hammered if we did by the likely Friday opponent: UNC. We're just not going to have the legs.

The NCAAT depends entirely on the draw. There are too many things that could go wrong to list them all, but foul trouble for Marshall, a bad game by Brandon, a cold shooting night as a team, a dominating post performance by an opponent, or a great game by a single opposing PG could all spell doom all by itself, let alone in combination. I figure we're a 4, 5, or 6 seed, but that's me just guessing. Anyone have an informed opinion there? If I'm right, we could lose to a 13, 12, or 11, but we could also get past them and beat any 5, 4, or 3 we'd face in the next round. As it stands, I'll be disappointed if we lose our first NCAAT game. I won't be surprised if we lose our 2nd. I'll be pleased if we make the Sweet 16. I'll be elated if we make the Elite 8. I'll be shocked if we make the FF.

Plumlee will have to come out to guard Ellis and the other bigs for Kansas will have big games.
I would rather play Villanova or Oklahoma.

This is a Duke team that has tons of heart, but is limited in some very real ways. They will have ten losses when the NCAA Tournament begins. If they can put together two wins and get to the Sweet Sixteen, I'll be pleased.

I would think sweet 16 with a good shot at the elite 8. I don't think the first two games with be that difficult for this team, they should be able to give a little extra time to the 6th or 7th man and be a little less tired for the second game but the 16 round would put them against someone like UNC, Villanova, Virginia, Kansas, Mich State, Oklahoma, ........ That game would be difficult but winnable but I think the energy expended to win that game would really deplete them for a similar game two days later. Making the Elite 8 would be an awesome achievement and Final Four always possible but almost would be a miraculous achievement. I think the 16 is likely and will be an achievement to be proud of.

I think we win 2 games Max...more like win one and lose in 2nd round....our PG play is just awful right now and playing with basically 5-6 players won't get us far....DT and Jeter bringing nothing at this point.

And if we face a team that can rebound in round 1 we may not make it out of first round

Remember when a sweet sixteen was a given? We have a Top 2 pick in the NBA draft, a Wooden award finalist/ACC POY contender, a senior big man, outside shooting, and the best coach in the game. Anything short of a sweet 16 is a disappointment.

Depends on your seed and draw.

I'd have you in sweet 16 to elite 8 territory assuming average seed and draw.
Really could care less what a unx fans tourney expectations are for us.

You guys better grow some outside shooting or you'll be the first one seed out.
Funny how you post differently over here than you do back over with your cronies.

2nd round game will be TOUGH. Lunardi has us playing Iowa in Denver, not easy.

All depends on matchups. I think we can handle high scoring teams like Iowa or Iowa State. I believe we will struggle against big deep teams like Baylor or Maryland. (I tried to pick teams we could potentially play 2nd round).

I will be happy to play competitive games in the 2nd weekend.

Could we see Kennard starting at the PG because Thornton hasn't been playing well lately. Kennard can score get into the paint and can definitely pass well. Also with Jeter or Obi they have to get minutes. Once again I am not saying they should play 30 minutes but in the tournament they have to be on the court for 15 minutes because that helps with rebounding and keeping Ingram out of foul trouble. Just my 2 cents.
