Right now Maryland playing WV. Too bad the tournament is not played in College Park.

I feel WV wins this one

I always think these 2/4 days are the best days of the year in sports. But it's even sweeter with some purple flavoring.

Bracing for a million announcers calling the games. That often show they know less about college ball than the ones we are used to seeing.

I will even tolerate Avery Johnson on the mic.

My sixth grader pretended to be sick and I’m all for it.

I’ve got deadlines today and I’m 80% to miss them. Go Cats.

Mizzou needs to hire away coach Lowery. They cannot defend middle school team.

That said, I wish we had a guy like Kobe Brown. He can score from anywhere, and can take over a game.

Gonzaga aside, Its uncanny how the two highest rated teams outside the Power 6 (Saint Mary's and San Diego State) both end up playing underrated good teams (VCU and Charleston) from mid-majors in the first round.

The Cougars, who represent the College of Charleston, prefer to be known as Charleston. This is similar to TCU wanting to be known by initials instead of ‘Texas Christian’, or UCF preferring intials to ‘Central Florida’, or even more similar to Nebraska-Omaha preferring simply to go by Omaha.

Curiously, despite this preference and partial rebranding, CoC’s hoops squad simply has ‘The College’ on its uniform.

CoC is hanging with San Diego State.
(These teams can’t shoot. Yuck.)

Happy that both my Wildcats and Aztecs won their first round games today to advance. I missed the NU game because of an event on campus but hope to review the highlights at least. I was a little nervous looking at the score on my iPhone but nice to see the Cats prevail. We can beat the Bruins! Go Cats!

Penn State is up by 24 over Texas A&M with a little over 8 minutes left. They are playing well. Losing those games late in the season to them still hurts though.

I should note that I am cheering for all three K-State’s today.

#3 Kansas State: go purple wildcats , go @12375CAT!
#13: Kent State: The tears of Hoosiers are my lifeblood
#14: Kennesaw State: ATL ties, they’re the Owls

Kennesaw State up 11 on #3 Xavier. And yet it does not feel, to me, as big as yesterday's upsets. Probably because Xavier has not had Freemantle for a while now. My brain tells me "overrated #3".

Xavier lost a game to DePaul. Let's not underestimate their ability to crap the bed.
