NU defense was forcing Maryland to eat up a lot of clock even when they were trying to shoot quickly at the end of the game.

When we beat Wisky at their place without Scottie, Lou was right. We essentially locked it up. Of course we could have lost every game from that point, but we were simply not playing at any point like a team who would do that. We had not lost more than two games in a row all season prior to Wisky, and finished the season NEVER HAVING LOST MORE THAN TWO IN A ROW, despite many injuries and a debilitating illness. Think about that for a moment.

Stated at the time that w/ just 1 more win, the 'Cats would be permanently on the bubble, but some didn't see it that way.
