How is it a UGA commit is rated the #4 RB(High 4 Star) in the Country and depending on Source 70-80 best player and decommits from UGA and now is a 3 star and rated around 500 or so?
Could be the theory that bigger schools garner bigger rankings but it’s also not unusual for kids to progress or plateau at different stages

Yup...and not a single down of football has been played since that ranking.

Can some give opinion of what kind of back Mizell is?

Boom type explosive?
CRod in between tackles grinder?

Maybe a bit of both? 205 and 6'0 is pretty good size for a HS Rb.
If the 4.3 forty is right at one place I saw he is super fast. And at 210 at that speed will not be fun to try and tackle.

@Grumpyolddawg what was the deal between Mizell and Georgia? Was a top 100 player committed to the Dawgs and then things came unwound.

No idea, committed to us pretty early and stayed committed for awhile. But we had 2 backs committed and looking for a 3rd, still taking 3 if we can get them. Not sure if that had anything to do with him leaving or not.

He compares himself to being as physical as Benny, but with more speed. That would make him an instant option!! At 205 as a Jr in HS with 4.3 speed, he could possibly get up to 220 and be even more imposing!!

Coen REALLY wanted this kid and he seems to LOVE the coaches and whole program overall. Can’t wait to see him in Blue!!

That dude looks legit. He's elusive as hell, very slippery. His ability to put on the spin move and sidestep defenders is impressive. Good lateral quickness and ability to change direction. Nice speed in the open field! Also looks to have nice pass catching ability, which is something Coen seems to want in his RBs.

It is a bit of a head scratcher how he slipped from being a high end 4 star to a high end 3 star during the offseason, but considering he is still ahead of where Benny and C-Rod were in the recruit rankings, I don't put too much stock in that anyway. If he exceeds expectations the way those two did, he'll play like a 5 star.

I seen comparisons to Boom. If you watch his highlights he is an exceptional receiver out of the backfield. Idk how big he is but with his speed, he looks like the type of back that can shift to the slot and be a weapon

Agreed with most of that but he actually wasn't the one who compared himself to Benny Snell. It was one of our coaches.

I think I read 247 has him as a four star.

Have a good feeling about this one. Wilcox and Mizell should make a great combo. Wilcox reminds me of Rafael Little. Not sure UK has had a back like Mizell...but I think he is exactly what Coen wants.

I would say 6' 200 or so. His ability to jump laterally into the open gap and then quickly accelerate is what stands out on the highlight film. Runs nice routes and catches passes with the soft hands of a receiver. Good player. I would not compare him to any Kentucky running back I have seen. Not saying he is better than all of them, but he is different.

If you want to believe everybody that gets demoted is because they are going to uK then have at it. I’m not saying who offers isn’t an influence but at this point we’ve gotten enough players I doubt we’re getting a kids ranking penalized. But there’s a thing to when rankings are redone and reconsidered. Rankings change when they change

Exactly. They're ranking thousands of guys. Not everyone is going to happen in the same time frame. Not even possible

He likely got “demoted” by decommiting from UGA and or missing a camp in May.

He’ll get his 4th Star back by NSD, so it makes no real difference, anyhow.

This. I mean the kid will be who he’ll be and is who he is as a player regardless. We kind of know who we are at this point. We won’t ever recruit like Georgia and those types but we’ll get a few kids like that and the rest we have to try to develop

I'm hesitant to say "never," as I had grown to think we'd "never" again win double-digit games, or sign a class 50%+ Four Star Rivals recruits.

We have more 4 Star help coming in the freshman Class and the incoming transfers, this season alone, than Brooks and Joker had for the full 10 year period of their combined tenures.

Things can change.

I remember people saying we wont ever win 10 games and now we've done it twice under Stoops.
