They had one of the worst offenses ever seen in the history of mankind last year. I hope Towles the best and I'll cheer for BC every game this year, but a lot of great QBs would've struggled to make that offense look decent.

Well, Addazio got Tim Tebow to the NFL ... for a few minutes, at least.

I certainly think of Addazio as being a Meyer-spread running QB offensive coach. To the extent that's true, kind of an odd choice.

Not really, Towles runs well enough to fit in.

An offense like that is probably where Towles would have the best chance to succeed. Tebow wasn't known as a great passer. But he could get things done with his legs and throw just accurately enough to keep the defense honest. IMO, Shannon Dawson didn't do us (or Towles) any favors by taking away one of the best elements of his game...his ability to pick up yards with his legs. At least Neal Brown recognized this as one of Towles strengths and tweaked his approach to take advantage of that. I think Towles could be a pretty good QB in a spread option offense.

I hope the kid explodes up there. I looked at their season and they had some games where one big play could have won a game for them. Their defense is for real

They have a terrible offense. He is certainly not going to completely turn that around. I doubt he does any better stats wise there than he did here.

If BC had a great offense, they wouldn't be looking to take on Patrick. Good luck up there.

In addition to helping Tim Tebow throughout his collegiate career, Addazio picked up Tyler Murphy from UF for his fifth year and Tyler, whom we enjoyed watching play, is now with the Steelers.

Have fun with the winters up here.

Shoveling over 100 inches last year was not fun.

Addazio was the o-line coach at UF for Tebow's first 3 years. Dan Mullen was the OC/QB coach.

I hope he makes all the critics on here eat their hat. Definitely a great runner for a QB in my book, and I am still impressed with the two tackles that saved TDs on interceptions, he manhandles those very good players.

Dawson took away a lot of things from our offense. If Towles had more freedom to run, he may have been much more effective and productive overall. I wish him luck at BC and will follow his progress.

The other Dawson gripe I have was his doing away with the wildcat formation. I think there were a few instances this year when things weren't going well offensively that the wildcat could have provided a huge spark.

Hell yeah man, the ability to tackle defenders after throwing a terrible INT is one of the most important facets I look for in evaluating a QB at UK or anywhere. He did have a lot of practice throwing INTs at UK so it was great to see him excel at something with an A+ score.

I wish Patrick well, but I just don't see how he will be successful up there. They had a total garbage offense. Really bad. Like so bad, I don't see how he could rescue it on his own. He won't have good protection, he won't have talented receivers. Honestly, after watching a team like Louisiana Tech I think he would have been better served going someplace like that. It worked for Jeff Driskel.

Well, yes, I was expecting that, no problem.

Towles is not just a QB, he is a football player, he would probably be a very good LB or TE. He is big, fast, had the best shuttle time at the Elite 22, threw 43 TDs to ONE interception his senior year in high school, a very tough FOOTBALL player. I think most will agree that he wasn't used in the best way by UK last year.

I hope he has a great season next year, and think it is entirely possible. And if he doesn't he should still get a shot at the pros based on his potential alone.

His feet are way too choppy to ever be a successful QB at the college level, 4 years and he's still chopping his feet as if his life depended on how fast he can chop his feet. I wish him the best but he is just simply a very poor passer. Has a big arm with zero accuracy. Just an atrocious QB to be honest i know I'll get blasted for saying that but I don't really understand the point in sugarcoating things. If he's their best option next season. Then good luck BC! You'll need it! I do hope he has a good season though he is a good kid and deserves it in a sense but I seriously just can't see it happening.

No doubt Towles was a very good HS QB.

I wonder that too. Given how poor their O was, I'd expect he'll get it & we'll see.

Defense was the ONLY thing that kept them in any games.

And they just lost their DC to Michigan.

I just think he needs the right fit. If they have a monster run game then he won't have to carry the offense. Play action all day.

Of course he is not going to be a superstar or anything...but I think he has tools to do well in that type of offense, where he will presumably be under less pressure.

He is going to be in somebody's NFL camp and get a serious look if BC can get him to settle down and deliver the ball accurately. Probably not drafted. If that does not work out he will probably be in the Bevin administration and start his rise toward Congress or something.
