And Duke, too, right? The "blueshirt" route has seemed to work well for our guys so far.

Did he actually make it through? He "Med FFT" the consi rounds he should have wrestled in due to his "injury"....And AJ is always 50% to not finish a season due to injury or arrests and he made it through this year.
Yeah, what was his injury? He walked around the arena during the finals, must have been an upper injury, all the way up.Did he actually make it through? He "Med FFT" the consi rounds he should have wrestled in due to his "injury"....
Josh Barr did an interview after one of our matches and he said he doesn't like to wrestle Cole, he is mean and will throw you against the wall.re Cole - its possible to add muscle w/o adding a lot of weight, no?
He sure doesnt look strong even for his smaller size.
And wasn't there a big heavyweight from Lehigh also, who's name escapes me.He missed Coon, but Steveson was 260+.
Jordan WoodAnd wasn't there a big heavyweight from Lehigh also, who's name escapes me.
Reading the consolation results, I saw that, in addition to both Ferraris, Shapiro MFF’d both Saturday afternoon matches to settle for sixth… does anyone know if he was indeed injured this year?Yeah, what was his injury? He walked around the arena during the finals, must have been an upper injury, all the way up.
I did see Angelo dragging his leg when he walked, and didn't jump off the stage after Iowa got its 4th place trophy. I think his injury is legit.
I saw that post. Nicolls is so often full of shiit i don't know when to believe him or dismiss him. According to the Corby though, Iowa is a much better job than the Ohio State job because of the NIL money the school shares. Now the Corby shared that opinion with the acknowledgement he doesn't really know how much if any money Iowa wrestling gets from the university.I saw a post on HR from their donor (Nicolls) where he informed the readers that Iowa wrestling didn’t receive any money in revenue share this past year. Did anyone else see this? I found it pretty surprising. I believe PSU Wrestling was around $1.5MM.
White weighed 241 for the finals. That was also Ant's 5th year out of high school when he made the jump to heavy. Cole's story hasn't been written yet. Though, to your point, Derek White and Gable Steveson were pretty damn good.
Jordan Wood could probably swallow a 197 whole, but had nothing for Cassar. Tanner Hall and Tate Orndorff were full-blown AA heavies too.Jordan Wood
Cassar was almost very explosive to go along with his strength. That is an awesome combination. Cole has neither. Cole has to get significantly stronger and hone his technique. Adding significant explosiveness is difficult to do.I think as of now Cassar may have been stronger, but he was also not going up against the biggest of behemoths.
And we can’t forget Colton Schultz. That is a big boy right thereJordan Wood could probably swallow a 197 whole, but had nothing for Cassar. Tanner Hall and Tate Orndorff were full-blown AA heavies too.
Also Nick Nevills in the 260 range.
IIRC the guy from NW was very tall and had to cut to 285, but wasn't a podium threat.
I don't think Parris was that big yet. He was a HS 220 and they faced in his true FR year.
Time will definitely tell, but I think I am as high on James as anyone here. He kinda' floats out there, and his proprioception really stands out. His win against Miller just showed how good he really is, as Miller is a phenom also. Only being 17, and not being big for his H.S. weight of 165, his potential is exciting to think about. It will be interesting to see how big he gets. If I remember correctly, I have read comments about how big his father is. I haven't been as excited about a recruit since, well, PJ and Marcus : )James is better than Bassett - everyone will see that pretty quickly
Speaking of strength, it is amazing how Barr can pull in a leg while extended. Mitchell is the same way.The biggest problem with Cole not finishing shots was typically strength. There was one match (Ghadiali maybe?) where he tried to pick his ankle and just could not move it. He looked like he was trying to pull an oak tree out of the ground. Many other times, he'd get under a guy and when he sprawled/put his weight on him, he lost the positional advantage. If he were on par with those other guys' strength or at least able to neutralize it instead of the strength disadvantage neutralizing his advantages, he would be a title contender. He obviously needs to hit the weight room hard this offseason, but I share the concern about whether he will ever be able to bridge that gap (because it's not a new issue, so hopefully he has been working on it but to little result so far). We'll see, I guess. As far as a transfer, if there were a legitimate title contender who would fit the culture who is knocking on the door, then sure, I guess, but I don't see anyone like that out there this offseason, so I'm perfectly fine rolling with Cole and seeing how it goes. As a technical wrestler, he is at least as good as anyone else at hwt.
Gable at his peak was the most nimble big man I have ever seen.I guess he was that big; Gable never seemed as big as he was. Probably due to how nimble he looked.
Agreed. He is truly special. Reminds me a bit of Ed Ruth. Not necessarily the way they wrestle but more about the way they move. Both guys are so smooth and kind of float around the mat. James doesn’t seem quick like Miller or physical like PJ but he absolutely is. It just looks different for some reason. He definitely has the frame to put on some good weight. I think 184/197 could be in the cards during the back half of his careerTime will definitely tell, but I think I am as high on James as anyone here. I am for letting Desmond give it a ago (if he can comfortably get up to 141).Go after Stanich.
I really like Stanich but I hope he stays at Lehigh. It’s better for the sport and we don’t really need himGo after Stanich.
Absolutely. I'm all in for that plan also.I am for letting Desmond give it a ago (if he can comfortably get up to 141).
I keep reading here that Landon Sidun is from Norwin, Pa. There is no such place. Sidun attends Norwin High School and is from North Huntingdon, Pa.Next year's (2026) class includes 2 top 20 wrestlers coming in:
2 James out of NJ...best wrestler in class not named Bassett (174)
20 Herring from Bishop McCort who is solid (149)
Lions secured 4 top 10 wrestlers in the 2027 Class
2 Sidun from Norwin PA (125)
3 Burnett from OH...Blaze teammate (133/141)
6 Shepherd from IN (149/157)
10 Mangano NY (141/149)
Simply re-loading!
Also:Our targets in 2028 fit seamlessly with the 2027 class for the most part as far as covering most of the remaining weight classes - guys like Hutcherson, Howard, Hazelett, O’Farrill and Hoare
Yes, though Cassar never faced him.And we can’t forget Colton Schultz. That is a big boy right there
Was it Kerk that wrestled him?Yes, though Cassar never faced him.
Yes. Schultz was HS 2019 and shirted as a true FR behind Hall. So he would've missed Cassar no matter what, unless Cassar exercised all of those potential medical shirts. Was it Kerk that wrestled him?
Levi was known to be able to “pull in a leg while extended “.Speaking of strength, it is amazing how Barr can pull in a leg while extended. Mitchell is the same way.

Or is he from Irwin?I keep reading here that Landon Sidun is from Norwin, Pa. There is no such place. Sidun attends Norwin High School and is from North Huntingdon, Pa.
There is pretty much nothing that Mesenbrink isn't absolutely elite at. LOL.Speaking of strength, it is amazing how Barr can pull in a leg while extended. Mitchell is the same way.
No. He lives in North Huntingdon Township. Not the adjacent boro of Irwin.Or is he from Irwin?
I sat right behind Stanich’s father in the arena this weekend. Mr. Stanich was the most laid back dude in the building when his son was wrestling in the semifinals. Most people aren’t that calm in their sleep. He also said Luke is very happy at Lehigh.Go after Stanich.

And anyway, what need would that fill for PSU?
Last year Iowa didn't take any money they had everything set prior to July 1. This coming season Iowa will receive rev share $.I saw that post. Yup - I was focusing on the bigger guys since we went light for this 2027 class. Also:

IIRC he has trained with Nagao.Yup - I was focusing on the bigger guys since we went light for this 2027 class.
I know he’s on the Dice doc, but what are the connections besides probably being buds with some of his world team teammates that we are after? Any explicit tidbits?
Thank you for the vocabulary word of day! Now if I could improve the proprioception in my fingers, I might be inclined to post more frequently.Time will definitely tell, but I think I am as high on James as anyone here.
