Yes, he trained with Nagao, who went to the same HS. He wrestled at 120 this year compared to 113 his freshman year. He definitely is more muscular now, but he didn't look particularly big at 120. He still has two more years of HS left, so it will be interesting to see what his weight is approaching college. In the California state Finals this year he lost his first HS match ever against senior and Oklahoma State commit Rocklin Zinkin. Zinkin beat Sanchez 5-2. Sanchez was about a second from getting the tying TD and potential backs as time expired. Zinkin ended his high school career as a 3-time California state champion and 4-time finalist, which is a phenomenal accomplishment in one classification California. Zinkin wrestled 120 his last two seasons and looks really large for the weight. My guess is he cut a lot of weight to stay at 120 and Sanchez wasn't interested in cutting weight to stay at 113. Kudos to them both for not dodging each other.
