Conwell(could he wait to see who new coach is)
Oweh
Noah
Lewis
Johnson
Chandler

Perry(would he redshirt?) and Kriisa are odd men out. Conwell might not even be a target even if does declare. Not with the improvements Chandler is making plus who we have staying/coming in. That would be a very deep backcourt
I’d consider Noah more of a SF/small ball 4.

I’d consider Noah more of a SF/small ball 4.

I'd like to see more from him defensively to see him at the 3/4. As of now I see him better as a 2, but we will see. No matter the position I still see him becoming an even more integral part next season. He could become a tremendous rebounding guard as well. The ball has a knack for finding him at times.

Some smoke that Chris Mack will be Xavier coach again

I work with a guy who watches Purdue. He said Smith is big time liability on defense guys just go around him and does turn it over. Too much.

He has plenty of skill

I watched Smith this weekend just because of all the build-up on this board. Wasn’t going to say anything but since it’s been mentioned, I didn’t see at all what the hoopla was about.

Braden Smith played 36.9 minutes this season and is almost 3:1 in assists/turnovers with the 19th highest usage rate in the B18. In his career he's 8.1 assists/3.0 turnovers.

In conference he had 175 assists and 60 turnovers.

I just dont see why he'd leave Purdue. Does he gain that much financially? Its sure not about playing time or winning. Plus Purdue is basically home.

He has the talent offensively to be really good, obviously being a junior is tempting too. If he ever put it together he will be a pro obviously like his rank suggested. IU paid him like close to a million bucks and he’s just not worth that right now.
If I were advising him I’d say go to Missouri and see if you can have a Mark Mitchell turnaround

Looks good, but needs about 25-30 lbs to hold his position in the SEC. Definitely worth a look though.

For sure, I almost think you take the risk and see what smith does. I wouldn’t take any player right now expect the center gwath because bigs are harder to find
I'm not entirely sure, but maybe the pursuit of Dedan Thomas is because Pope already got a "no" from Smith's camp. We're all just speculating. If we can't get a player on the level of Dent, Smith, or Thorton, then I'm happy if we can pick up Dedan Thomas. (However, I'm not sure how this might affect the recruitment of Taylen Kinney and I really like Kinney.)

Since we're on the topic of portal transfers, let's extend it to coaching transfers.

Does anyone see Hurley wanting to continue dealing with the transfer portal every year? He bitterly told 60 Minutes that he was tiring of the portal, and knew that a number of his guys would be leaving.

Eventually, you have to imagine that guys like Hurley and Oats will tire of recruiting a brand new team every year.

I'm hoping the NBA comes calling for both Oats and Hurley and that they both leave college basketball.
If we are wishing let's get that f%$k out at Dook while we're at it.

This is no different than high school recruiting in that you have to cast a wide net.

I’m still waiting on Falslev to get in.

I wonder this as well.
I thought Fox was supposed to be involved with NIL. If not, UK needs to hire someone great that can raise funds and increase this portion of the program. If Barnhart is truly an issue with this, then take it out of his hands and place it in the hands of a specialist.
Or take him out back, and put HIM in the hands of a specialist.
