If our season results in an ncaa/nit birth some names I could see us going after that would help us.
JJ Starling-- small forward who chose ND over us. Having a good freshman season but ND in disarray.
Jaden Schutt -- Not getting much tread at Duke. Good opportunity for some pt at NU

I know this is early but any other thoughts

I always thought we had a chance with Braden Huff who went to Gonzaga. Hasn’t played, I believe, but might be waiting his turn.

Dom Cambell big guy Notre Dame.

Did not play much. High academic. Would be a project. Stretch 5.

Feels like we’ll need ball handlers unless Boo and Chase come back, no? At least one young guard even if they both do? Other than that, I’ll take any wing who can 3 and D or any opportunity for more athletic bigs.

Even if they do, would need them the following year. And could use a good backup anyway as we are but an injury away

Trey Calvin, PG for Wright State. Getting the name out of my turd cutter just because I've watched him play a bunch of times. Well he is from the Chicago area. There's that.

Mixed feelings on this one, but you wonder if Brumbaugh is a potential option. That bridge may have been burned with NU (and if so, so be it), but you gotta think a kid that hasn’t played and whose head coach has been fired is considering going somewhere else.

Allowing Brumbaugh to transfer to NU would fall into the category of "things I'd never do"

Actions have consequences. Its an integral concept to any program that still does things the right way.

Not to mention the fact that loyalty is a two way street - the coach has to be loyal to the players he already has if he expects their loyalty in return.

Totally fair comment and not one I necessarily disagree with.

Parker Friedrichsen is available again and is arguably the best shooter in the class. Better off the dribble than he's given credit.

If Chris Ledlum from Harvard decides to do a grad transfer, he would be a good pickup.

Just announced that Schutt is redshirting at Duke this year (unless things change), so I would expect him to transfer. I know he's struggling there, but shooters can struggle in the wrong court combinations and systems. I'd love to see him in Evanston.

But don't all shooters struggle at NU?
