One thing I haven't seen discussed much is the level of transferring going on in the NCAA. I'm not a fan of it and sadly it seems to becoming a trend that instead of working hard in the off season and earning a spot on the lineup, just transfer somewhere else. Taking the easy way

Pittsburgh-five players
Kansas-1
Memphis-2
Washington- three
Virginia-three

And there is " ALOT" more. No one really can pin why they transfer. Playing time, discontent with the coaches or program, family issues. I think I read where transfers in division one basketball continue to see an increase every year.
Some transfer because they realize they can play at a higher level of program. You can search the web and there is a list of transfers so far this off season.

When a kid transferred from Duke , it used to bother me more than it does now. 2 reasons:

1) K ain't playin' a deep bench. He just ain't. We all get pizzed off about it sometimes but it is what it is. And...

2) K signs the very best players in the country. The days of "wait your turn" are over. These kids go from puttin' up gaudy stats an' havin' their azzes kissed to fightin' for pt. They won't all deal with it the same way. Most stay but some bolt. All things being equal , I don't think it's a reflection of anything more than that. Again , is what it is.

I'll never forget Mike Chapelle sitting in Michigan State's cheering section after transferring there from Duke. Felt great to watch us whip his new team

There were just too many sf/pf and he saw the writing on the wall. Felt bad for the kid, he had some decent talent.

University of Memphis has 6 of their top 8 players transferring including 3 all league players and 2 of them ended up going to play for Bill "Shady" Self at Kansas. Them, Pitt, and Washington all got rocked this year.

Pitt is also losing 4 talented seniors. They are going to be very, very bad next year. If Pitt somehow wins 8 games in league play, like Josh Pastner & Georgia Tech this year, Kevin Stallings should not only be ACC Coach of the Year, but also National Coach of the Year.
