I actually like the idea of having a 3rd classification - men, women, trans. It's appalling that a guy swimmer can set 'women's' records by 40 seconds (which is a ridiculous amount of time in a swimming event - like a full length or more of the pool) and biological women athletes are losing meets, scholarships, etc. to this person. The New Zealand trans 'woman' who set all kinds of weightlifting records is a complete joke, also.
I wonder if I could identify as a 65-year old and get my SS and Medicare right now?
After reading through this thread I Googled transgender suicide rates. And, to no one's surprise, I found > 6 studies, with slightly more than half stating that transgender (after surgery) suicide rates are >> general population. I also found 2 or 3 which stated that there is NO higher incidence of suicide among transgenders whatsoever. So, for a complete layman/novice on this subject, how am I supposed to come to a conclusion whether there is a real biological/physical 'problem' that transgenders are attempting to address or if it's a psychological problem? As it is with COVID, climate change, etc., there are multiple studies that will say whatever you think they ought to say. Makes it damned difficult nowadays to know what the true facts are.
