I'm pretty sure that there are members on here that are either gay, lesbian, bisexual, or trans.

I'm one of them. I just recently came out as Transgender to my family. It hasn't been an easy road at all. I have been on hormone replacement therapy for 3 weeks now, and I can already tell the changes in my body that's taking place.

If anyone else here is Transgender, would you care to elaborate and talk about what changes you saw in 3-4 weeks after you started HRT?

Congratulations on coming out and realizing who you really are. I'm not transgender, I'm most definitely a man, but I'm happy for you. I don't really know how HRT works, so I can't say anything about that.

However, there may be a lot of flaming in this thread, since I doubt many people from Kentucky are LGBTQ-friendly. I am, and many people are, but I'd imagine many more aren't...

But you have my support!

Thanks for your support! I accept the flaming. I live in Arkansas, and their not Trans-Friendly here either, except in Fayetteville, Hot Springs, & Eureka Springs. Unfortunately, I live in the 2nd largest city in Arkansas, and I still get looked down. . . Oh well! I'm a Male to Female Transgender. My current hormones are estradiol (estrogen) and spironolactone (T-Blocker). The Estradiol, of course, raises my estrogen levels, has made my skin softer, hair to grow slow, and will eventually cause my breast to grow. (I already have pain behind the nipples). The T-Blocker blocks my testosterone. After 3 weeks, I no longer have the desire to have sex or masturbate either. (I'm trying to keep this on a G-Rated level as much as possible). There's just not too many words that would take the place of some.

I don't want to be mean, but this clearly is a general discussion board topic. Also, you'd be 1000 times better served using message boards geared toward such topics. Try googling your question and I promise you'll find detailed discussions about transgender issues.

Again, not being a jerk or making judgments, but this is a basketball forum, not a personal issues forum.

OP Grats on telling your family. You will need their support. I can't imagine how hard it must be, but understand there are people out there who do care. You might have been born in the wrong time, but you can make a difference for the future. It won't be easy, but rejoice in who you are and fly your flag freely for the world to see. God bless.

If this is a troll post, then that's ok too.

Congrats. I am sorry you had to live all those years as an opposite sex, or what not. I hope you have peace in your future endeavors. Godspeed.

You do know half this board has you on ignore right?

I just took you off recently. I have no idea who you are other then you seem like a special needs kid. Which is ok. Good for you for being that way. Let your flag fly free.

But seriously, I read one post of yours before, and it was obvious you were challenged.

Reading all this, my prediction is that the said flag will not be flying on a pole for long.

Turn it back on and shut the hell up. Some of you are just ridiculous.

OP- In a bout 6 months I'll have my clinical license. I am thinking about getting a cert that specializes in Transgender issues. I live in Orlando which is a HUGE LGBTQ friendly place. Do you think there is more need for evidence based psychotherapy for the LGBTQ population? Being serious here.

If you're ever in Orlando. Go to the Parliament House. It's awesome. My wife and I go to see the Transgender burlesque shows all the time.

If your a trans male without surgery are you the pitcher or the catcher? Is there a butch and fem transgender? Op, you and one other dude had the balls to admit to who you are. That dude was gay though flaunting a rainbow colored UK flag in his avatar. Needless to say he didn't last very long. Anyways do what you believe is right and not listen to the dudes who are insecure with their sexuality.

lbgtq? What is the Q? Aren't lesbians gay? Why the need for a separate distinction?

Stars,
B Jenner made a point of saying he was sexually and that his change was not sexual. It gave the impression that even after the change, he would not be sexually attracted to men. As a guy, were you sexually attracted to men or did you, internally , just feel like a girl? ....or both? Was yours a sexual decision, emotional decision, both? Once the process is completed, will you "entertain" men or women? Just curious.

Respectfully,
ram

Even if OP is serious, OP deserves honorary moderator-ship based upon outstanding troll ability. 5 stars.

10-stars. Especially for having the ability to gather a following behind him/her/it with people who are defending the OP. Never mind this thread was started on RUPPS RAFTERS. That's what happens when you're late to the party jack asses.

Couple of friends I grew up with are in the therapy business. One has recently retired. Both of them have volunteered their disgust with patients, not the least of which is patients with a pattern for needy attention. Transgenders fit that profile in a big way, just can't get enough attention, attention, attention. According to the smarter of the two of them, TransGs generally "go for it" (e.g. announce to family, post on message boards, start taking the hormones) at the time in their life when they've become physically disgusting to themselves, comparative failures to their peers, and when they feel entitled to "strike back" as an alternative to being ambitious enough to provide for their own needs without attention, which is a horrifying alternative to persons who fit the profile of being so emotionally incompetent that they can't help but think how they could change the world every time they take a piss, but never when they drive to work.

That is a hell of a sentence.
