Trap Game

As others have stated this could be a trap game. Certainly agree with that. We're coming off a huge win at Number1 Purdue & could have a let down. Right after Maryland we have Ohio State. Could be a temptation to subconsciously be looking ahead a bit.
So possible trap on both ends.
It will take real mental discipline & toughness to overcome the trap. IMO this team is a team that can do it. GO RU!

Team needs to come out and let MD know they’ve never played against a Defense like this. And if they don’t (I expect they will) I hope Pike calls a quick timeout and gets in their faces and subs if needed.

Dear me, how I hate that term "trap game." I remember when it was coined, sometime in the early nineties. The thing is, though, that, by definition, if one knows it's a "trap game" in advance, it can't be a "trap game."

Rutgers should win this game; they are by far the better team. But if they don't, it's because they prepared, did their best, but got beat. Not because of some amateur psychology that we message board people use. It would be an insult to Coach Pikiell to believe anything else, in my opinion.

ETA: sorry for being a dick. The CRO that I have worked around the clock for over the past five years is bending me over right now. All you other PharmaHeads know what I mean...

Every game is a difficult game in the B1G. We are only 5 point favorites at home, silly dad.

My only worry with these guys is fatigue given the effort. 3 in 7 could be a challenge as we saw earlier (though missing some guys).

They beat us at home last year. No one should beat us in our home two years in a row.

Everyone knows an emotional let down is possible after a huge win or heart breaking crushing loss. Simply acknowledging it doesn't mean it won't happen or else it would never happen yet it often does

Bounce back games after embarrassing losses happen too and Maryland just go destroyed so expect them to come out with a ton of fight. Remember when we got absolutely embarrassed against Illinois last year by 35? We all know what happened after that even without Geo...

Players aren't robots. Sports are emotional

Rutgers has two games prior to playing Ohio State.

It’s possible for this to be a trap game, but the way Cam Spencer was focused in his interview with BTN makes me think otherwise. Beating big teams hasn’t been anything new for us these past few years🤷‍♂️
