I could see it the opposite way. Letting Husker fans down easy at a time they won’t care. Making the back page of the Sunday paper rather than the front.

I don't know if the 247 BB crystal ball projections are worth anything but it appears he is headed to UVA. I can't imagine a kid growing up in NE would announce to another school right before the first Football game, granted it is MBB, but still. I am hoping it is a good sign that they are wrong and he will announce to Big Red.

Meh. With the talent Fred is bringing in I'm not worried about it. He can go to UVA and be just another pretty face without much pressure. The flip side of it is IF he were to come to NU and be the great savior of NU basketball imagine how much coin he could make locally in NIL money.

If that's the plan it's dumb. It will do nothing to temper negative reactions on social media, and isn't that really all anyone cares about these days? I think people can pay attention to two things. Personally I hope he's going wherever he wants. If Fred can get it done here it's not going to hinge on Traudt.

Well that social media stuff would happen at any time and it won't be any more during football day. But in the newspaper/TV coverage the stories of the day will be overwhelmingly about the first football game.
