Great story, but he was always going to struggle defensively at this level. That said, I have a feeling he might not agree, so I’m not expecting him to land at Western Kentucky or similar. He had some other legit high D1 offers. Be interesting to see where he ends up

Could be another Phil Cox from years ago at Vandy, UK passed on him and he hung 30 on several teams.

Sucks.

Just feels like nobody wants to develop anymore.

The days of a kid like Dominique Hawkins or Derek Willis are gone.
He's still going to develop, just not here.

Can't blame the kid for wanting to play meaningful minutes for someone now, he's capable of it.

Something tells me he'll be back at UK in a couple years.

The days of guys waiting their turn ( or redshirting like some suggested) are over. The portal is made to be recruited over. These guys are way too competitive to sit on the bench and watch waiting for their turn…which may never come.

Good luck to Travis…go tear it up somewhere.
100%. As it stands now you get 4 years to play and Perry isn’t playing in the NBA. So go get your playing time if that’s what you want. Not sure what he was going in NIL at UK so don’t know if this is a bad decision long term financially for him.

He seems to have a much better chance to contribute at this level. I'm not saying he will get big minutes this year but he will play and could be in line for a nice role as a Junior.
I say he stays as well. Much different then Perry. Noah has size and he doesn't get pushed around .

Hate to see him go but not surprised anymore in today’s time no one wants to wait their turn. Good luck at his next stop!

I get it....but on another level...was he not aware this was the deal along time ago?

1. If Krissa does not get hurt last year....Perry never saw the floor until then.
2. Before Aberdeen and Lowe got to UK....it was going to be Acaden Lewis and portal PG

So probably Perry was waiting to see how the roster played out....but this was always going to be the roster formation at PG all along...so why wait this late?

Hate to see him go but the longer we went without hearing he was coming back I had a feeling this might happen. He said he would be back right after the Sweet 16 but that was before we added all of the guards that we did. I don’t fault him at all for leaving, unfortunately this season showed he probably can’t play in the SEC. At least not defend in it.

Based on what? Players have been transferring since the dawn of time. From the University of Kentucky even. Joe B Hall transferred in the middle of the season to Sewanee because he could play there the next week.

Players haven't wanted to practice and sit bench since the days of peach basket. Now, it's just easier is all.

Hate to see him go but I understand it. If you look at it from a angle that is not sentimental it was easy to see he was over matched on the floor. He really fell off the last month or two even before he hurt his hand.

Everytime he came in the announcer would immediately say our opponent was going to go at him because he was to slow. I wish him the best .
