Losses probably don’t bother Taylor as much as it bothered either of the Brands. Especially since he has an Olympic gold, a pile of money and a great wrestling environment surrounding him.
Maybe we should try beating them first or being more creative in getting under their skin. We can be creative right?
I'm glad you're tough, but getting your panties in a bunch over the show that was put on in Stillwater is not something to lose sleep over. The Hawks have been at the top for most of our lifetimes on this board and many in the wrestling world are salivating over getting to kick us while we're down. I think it was good to bring some fire back into the rivalry, doesn't mean I'm wrong, doesn't mean I'm right. Again, I'm glad you're tough....
Interesting in that what you named, that was somehow supposed to separate Taylor from Brands, are ALL things the Brands have had for WAY longer than DT(well at least Tom, since Terry "only" has World level golds and a "measly" bronze in the Olympics)...
Well he is right, every other team is trying to win and Iowa isn't at the top of the heap anymore. That started to change in 2009 and there was probably no way to stop it. Maybe Iowa could've made a run at Taylor, but you risk losing a decent coach if you didn't land him. Legends don't come around very often and I'm not convinced yet that Taylor will be one.
Iowa lost to ISU in football,basketball, and wrestling this season. That hasn't happened very often if ever.
Interesting that you took it as anything more than it being exactly what I said. Do you think that kind of stuff bothers Taylor? Who do you think is more bothered by their losses from a decade or several decades ago?

Actually, I literally took it for EXACTLY what you wrote. It is not my fault that you don't understand how QUALIFYING a statement works. You even use "ESPECIALLY" as if it gives him extra special layers of separation, when those layers are not only EXACTLY what the Brands have, but they have had it for much longer than DT.

I certainly can laugh at them showing the Brands losses as Hawkeyes, but they step over the line with Terry's losses as a U.S. Olympian. Showing our country's defeat, the loss of a potential gold medal, especially as he is personally devastated in crawling off the mat, is an extraordinarily low blow and classless.

A broken clock is right twice a day too - what's you're point? To me that says more about ISU than it does about Iowa. Just remember, Alabama sucked for much of the 90's in football. Michigan lost to Ohio State countless times in a row and then won the National Championship. UCLA used to be the model for all basketball teams and then had its ups and downs. Sh$t happens.

Again, not accurate. I originally came here to have straightforward wrestling conversations and had many. My "trolling" came with the advent of a run of psu fans coming on here and trashing the board. Then, I added "soft" people to the mix when there was a political tangent. The 3rd and final string was the anti-Brands wing that you most certainly fall into.
To be clear, you don't come here to have "discussions". You come here to blast Brands and Iowa wrestling. I don't remember a single post from you before that. You can try to mask it all you want by saying you want Iowa to be better. But, nearly every Brands detractor on here had beef with Brands way before any negative results could be used.
Look, I love talking wrestling history, strategies, techniques and statistics. On the rare occasion where a civil conversation on those type of subjects happens, I am happy to partake. You don’t remember me on the boards because only a few of us, disgruntled with the product for years have started voicing how bad the program currently is. Most of us are showing our disdain by not going to meets- a surefire way to see change at the top.
I’ll say it again for you. I dislike the Brands Bros. I cannot and will not deny they are hall of fame, successful coaches. But they do not own Iowa wrestling, it is bigger than them. They are stewards of the program and I don’t like their style, attitudes and the product they have put on the mat.
