Give Bray some slack until he gets his own LBs on the field. Young is a RB playing LB. He's averse to contact with is not good for that position.

Wouldn't be sad if he was the one that was hinted at going somewhere else. LB play has been horrendous this year.
Wouldn't matter. Banker will still be in charge of the defense. With that said, you're right...the backers haven't progressed like most hoped.

Our DEnds make everybody look bad. I don't care how good you are as a linebacker, if you don't have help from your D ends you are going to have problems.

Young has been playing most of the year with an injury that would make anybody play cautiously. The kid is a very good player but he's obviously slowed. With Newby out, he has to play.

Yeah true, and too bad recruiting at that position has been going very good either.

So sick and tired of this mantra: "patience. Wait until these coaches have their own players." Newsflash. These are their players. They did not recruit them, but the last time I checked these were the players for NU football. And it is the coach's job to coach them.

Shhhhhh. Not allowed to point out the Dline looks like they don't have a position coach for the 2nd year in a row. Absolutely horrid fundamentals.

Don't those scout team players of the year usually go into a witness protection type program once they're named that? :)
Taylor Martinez I think was the offensive scout team player of the year his freshman year. I expect the offensive and defensive scout team POYs this year to be major contributors next year. Some former players (glory days guys) have been very complimentary about them.

That's because we have crap for defensive end talent.. Open you're eyes to the fact.
Have to coach them up. All I hear is how talent is not an excuse. Unless you are a former Husker player, then I guess there are no expectations or standards

Lack of talent not lack of technique IMO. Slow.....
Hmm. Must be teaching them to play paddy cake and stand up. Also must be teaching them to push the blocker away from the ball carrier while the guy with the ball goes the other way.

Hope so, Nebraska definitely needs a dose of that.

I agree dinglefritz. I think our defense looks slow. Verdict is still out on Parella. But we need a talent upgrade just as SE said. How is Parella's recruiting going is my key question...
So... the last guy got 1 year, with basically the same results. People DEMANDED he be fired. What is the difference?

I know, I need to find a job where I make tons of money and get to spend my first couple years blaming someone else for my lack of results.

I've been very impressed with the improvement of Banderas. I never thought he'd turn it on like he has. On the other hand, very disappointed with Young. I noticed awhile ago he shouldn't be seeing much of the field. Also disappointed with Michael Rose. I thought he'd be one of our best players this year. I wanted to see more of Weber and the other white dude. I thought they played pretty well when they were in. Marcus Newby has also done well. I don't think the results call for Bray's firing by any means.
