Love it.

System continuity will pay dividends in the future beginning this coming season.

Garrison, Chandler and Noah (confirmed returnees so far) have one year in the system under their belts, get another offseason of strength and conditioning, can work on their games 24/7 if they want to, will know exactly what their coach expects, and will use that knowledge to help their new high school/portal teammates learn the system and terminology.

He's a KY guy. He isnt leaving here. That was my point.

These announcements are goofy but I get its part of the me me me college basketball culture of the NIL and transfer portal era. I'm just gonna have to get used to it.
I don't think it is goofy at all. I think he position his coach to make his final informed roster building decisions before the portal closes.

It’s just kids and the social media culture. It’s so odd to this 49 yr old. Whatever I guess. It just proves if some bumpkin (that is said with 💯 affection) like Trent can do it, it’s literally the culture for all. Just weird to me. I know this, I’m glad to have him as a Cat. Kids like Trent Noah don’t grow on trees.

This is good news. For years we wanted players to stick around multiple years. Noah is the kind of player who will give Kentucky player retention and pay off big time by the time he leaves. Glad he is returning and gave the Cats some good minutes with his effort on the court. Hope he has a good sophomore season while putting in the work to improve his game over the offseason.

I would say it was people reaching out to him in Eastern Kentucky and via social media asking him the question if he was returning. He makes a statement and it is the end of it for him. Otherwise, after his year (showing improvement from game 1 to game 36) he would have several choices. Heck I would say he had several non power 4 coaches reaching out and maybe some lower power 4 schools that would love him as a true backup option at the 2 or 3. Do not ack like he is a walk on. He is not and anyone from Eastern Kentucky will take offense to that.
I'm glad Noah and Perry are staying.
I'm glad it appears their commitment to their state school snd its basketball tradition is solid and unwavering.
I hope they stay all four years, contribute greatly and enjoy the lifelong benefits of being a Wildcat.
Having said all of that, the question still begs for me ... what is their NIL$$$ compensation ?? Does anyone know ??

Excited to see his Sophomore Jump! Think he could be special here one day.

My natural instinct was to say F%$# Yea!! But I'd never say F%$# Yea on Rupp Rafters, it wouldn't be right would it? Seriously we all expected him to be back but it's good to have continuity, especially when it's a Ky kid that wants to bring home that Natty in a way outsiders don't understand.

There is nothing self centered about players announcing they are returning to school in an environment where entering the transfer portal by every player is expected. It was a thing before NIL.
Some folks have a tough time taking 'yes' for an answer.

He's tough, smart, and has a nose for the ball. He'll make some valuable contributions during his career. Happy we stole him back from Carolina.

I always like to see Kentucky kids play for UK. I'm from EKY but I don't care where they come from in the Commonwealth.

Next year with 4 Kentucky kids on the roster would be kinda awesome for them. I mean…any year is awesome as a fan, but that one would have a little extra sauce that we may b it see again
that’s right. 4 kids will be a treat!

When was last time we had players on the roster from Kentucky? And let’s don’t count the walkons.

What is with the haters questioning why he is announcing a return and asking where he could have gone? Um, you ever heard of the portal? The dude played productive minutes for a top 15 team under big lights as a Freshman. You don't think a ton of schools would love to have him, and would give him decent money and lots of minutes? We as a fanbase lament the state of college basketball and question the lack of loyalty, and then proceed to make fun of our own players for coming back simply because they are not yet superstars.

Well 1 I don’t think anyone was a “hater” about it and 2) yeah of course there’s the portal but who is offering him more NIL than UK.

Also let’s be realistic here. He was litterally the last player on our bench. I mean I love he’s here and I think he’ll only get better but no I don’t see a “ton of schools” knocking on the door
