It’s the same version his former high school uses for football and basketball games when their teams run out. Thought it was a nice tribute to his hometown.

Darrell Scott has a lot of good stuff. I've seen him a few times in KY at various places. I'd go with his version of YNLHA since it's the original. I like Patty Loveless' version but it's too long for me to consider it the best rendition overall.

Born in Harlan and lived there until 10 and still spent a lot of time there until college. I go back once or twice a year now to see what's left of family and take the kids to land we still own.

He picked the right song. That song is his county national anthem. That's what his football team always came out to. Roots run deep in Eastern Kentucky. Lots of truths to that song. Not much sunlight in those mountains. They have the tallest mountain in the state.
