Long time reader, first time poster. Excited to shoot the breeze a little.

But anyways, I recently read that he re-opened his recruitment and subsequently heard from Duke apparently. Do you guys know if there's any stock in this? I know Matt Coleman was being pursued after perceivably waning interest from Green. Just looking to see what you guys think it means for the PG spot in this recruiting cycle?

Because of my job I am connected to administrators at IMG Academy. Here's how it was told to me. There IS mutual interest between Duval and Duke BUT there are many parts that need to be evaluated. As a result, Duke MAY not be a fit.

Kentucky is a "major" player here. IF they extend an offer to Duval, he will most likely go there.

it's an insider article so you may not all be able to read it, but the main takeaway from the whole thing is this quote from Duval in regards to us:

“They need a point guard and hopefully I can come in next year and be that,” Duval said. “If I was to go there, I think I would fit perfectly. Because I can see that they need a point guard.”

I know kids say all sorts of things, but this makes it sound like he is already imagining himself in a Duke uni, which obviously only bodes well for us

Take a look at the dates in which those comments were made. A lot has changed since this thread was started. Good things.

A lot has definitely changed. Which is why it was probably wrong for me to speak so definitively so early.

I still will say I don't think Duke is in the lead by any stretch, but they are certainly up there in consideration. Duval does like what UK is doing with De'Aaron Fox.

This is earlier in process than wall, and he's got a better academic situation, that's not saying much though.

There's not a whole lot of proof on message boards. From everything I heard wall had to do a lot to be accepted into duke, and Duval had to get things in order as well. I've heard walls situation was worse. Doesn't make them bad people I was just pointing out we are in it seemingly earlier in the process with Duval.

There was a lot more to the wall recruitment than just not having Capel.

You're speculating based on message board stuff that are probably based on stereotypes. In any event, if the get accepted they get accepted. If we want to go on stuff we've heard, that guard from Chicago that played for Duke a few years back was supposedly in a lot worse shape than Wall or Duval.
