The 2010 team was bad?!

Holy crap you are straight dumb. I would wager you've never touched a basketball in your life. How many guys on that team played in the league? Seven? Eight?

A lot, all-state honorable mention. So hah! Yes, that was a pretty weak team relative to the national title. You are either not a college basketball fan or being obtuse.

Don't feed trolls.

Not trolling. My god some of you guys are so damn defensive. If I said Zoubek wasn't as good as Shaq you'd argue with me until your death. It's ok, they won and that's great. Just like the 98 UK team. It doesn't make the title any less of an accomplishment. If anything, it's more of an accomplishment. Sheesh

Dude1, you may as well give up. You know you can't fix stupid. Hell we could go 40-0 and win every game by double figures and we still wouldnt be the best team to those ignoramuses

False. Duke has been the best team in the country, and relatively good compared to other title teams, for all of their titles except 2010.

edit: they weren't the best in 15 but still good relative to other title teams

second edit: they were also arguable the best team in 10 just weak relative to other title teams.

And just so you guys know. Kentucky has been the best team in the country in all of their titles except 98. The 98 team was also relatively weak compared to other title teams. The one year they lost as the best team was 15.

So Duke wasn't the best team in 2015? Wowwww.

And who might've been the best team that year?

But for you to say any title team regardless of year or who they play "terrible" is just plain dumb.

Your right. You guys were dominant in the 40's. Congrats, Billy could do a better hook shot than Jimmy.

I honest wouldn't trade those early titles for a couple of more recent ones. I like the history/tradition of being pretty much the only program that has always been very good.

No, they weren't. No more than Kentucky was better than KU in 98. It's not that hard for me to admit.

No, but I'm starting to see more of them in the sports bars in my hood. If I was a bad *** I would punch one.

Dude, you are just dumb.

Jon Scheyer, Nolan Smith, and Kyle Singler were about as good as a player could be. All three are just a level below retired jersey at Duke. Scheyer had one of the best a:to ratios ever while averaging 18 a game (and would have played in the league if he hadn't gotten his eye popped out), Nolan Smith was a NPOY candidate who averaged 17 a game, and Kyle Singler is one of Dukes top scorers in history, averaging 18 a game. All three guys shot around 40 percent from three, and all three were great defenders.

Then, to back those three up, we had Lance Thomas, who has been in the league for ages, Miles Plumlee, an athletic freak who is in the league, and Mason Plumlee, who won the Pete Newell award a few years later and was up for NPOY, and who is also in the league. Add in Brian Zoubek, who was an absolutely dominant big for the second half of that season (he averaged something like 14 boards a game) and Andre Dawkins, who was a fantastic three point shooter and also played in the league.

It was, IIRC, the tallest Duke team in history, and one of the best defending teams as well.

You are just dumb.

I simply disagree. You are kind of making my point by citing possible NPOY candidates. Shows you are refusing to look at it in relative terms. Look, will it be easier if I admit they were a very good team that was probably the best team in the country and that got it done when they needed to?

You are just dumb.
