Last Crystal Ball had Duke in the lead, but that was also before he took an official to Kansas on 1/31. Read where he had a very good visit there, so I hope the Crazies are at their best Thursday! We all know that "K" will impress him. Hope for the best.
Go Duke!

skysdad, post: 11161355, member: 856"]Any updates on Ty Jones little brother and how he's playing. OFC[/QUOTE]

Sky, I saw a Video on Tre Jones and he looked impressive at the USA 16U Trials. If he is 6'2", he looked like a peanut compared to the other players! He does have a nice handle and distributes the ball well. From what I can see, he has a lot of offers and still is listed 100% to Duke, but I see where Arizona has come into the picture. Still too early to tell, but I like where Duke is right now. Jon Sheyer is the lead recruiter on him and he seems to be doing a great job. Not much info., but I hope it helps.

I really think (and hope) the longer it takes Duval to announce the better Duke is looking... I could be wrong... I'm never on the right page when it comes to recruiting

Thanks for the article, good read. I have no basis for this, just my opinion, but my guess is that Trae Young will commit to Oklahoma. Again, just my gut feeling.

Nothing would surprise me when it comes to recruiting... that's why usually I sit back and never say a word unless the people in the know on here say something. I really would love to get Duval, as well as Knox and bamba and esp Zion next year... just never really get my hopes up til they sign and are on campus

You don't have to sit back & never say a word, I for one, enjoy hearing the opinion of others. I enjoy talking about this and I don't get my hopes up either. If someone doesn't agree with you, they will get over it. I am by no means a recruiting expert, I just like to pass on my feelings about prospects, and hear yours! I don't try to hide it, my opinions are mostly just a gut feeling or what I have read. Hope more people want to discuss, I'll sure listen.

I think Kentucky has gained ground with Knox despite Jarred Vanderbilt and Zion is Clemson or South Carolina bound (at least it seems that way for now). The process is fluid.

I think it's too early to tell what happens with Zion. Who knows. Guess it could be a Ben Simmons thing and he pops early but I'd think it might last a little longer than not taking official visits.

I'd agree on Knox and have never really felt strong with him, I know I told you but he seemed to not be interested at all when he was here in the preseason.

Yep. I remember. And I'm with you on Zion that it's early. If anyone can change a mind, it's Capel and K. We'll see what happens.

Well, I'm obviously not in the majority, but I still feel that Knox will be at Duke, and I also think (hope) we get Duval. As far as Mohamed Bomba, he was 50/50 to Duke or Kentucky, but now he favors Kentucky (slightly). What we have to remember here is that he just had his official visit there. I believe (?) he cancelled his visit to Duke because of Coach K having back surgery, and has re-scheduled his official for 2/26.? Could be wrong here, but will be interested to see how he feels after talking to Coach K.
Not really sure on Zion, but the last I saw, he was very high on Duke! Everyone knows there is a long way to go, and anything can happen, but I sure like where Duke is positioned right now. Big question remaining, who leaves and who stays after this season?! Could change things a lot in the recruiting to follow.

Duval will love Duke and the game. I'm calling it. BUT, that doesn't mean he commits to Duke.

Knox, I agree with those that feel he isn't coming to Duke. To me it's a three horse race with Duke in 4th.

Bamba, can't read that kid but if Bolden leaves, I think it's back to 50/50

This will be an interesting year coming up. I would think the staff knows they will need upperclassmen leadership especially if many leave including Luke. This would be a spot to actually land grad transfers to come in. I've said it many times and I'll continue to say it. I'd love to get the PG from Yale

Anyone know for sure who they are after at point if they don't get Duval. We need a point in this class.

They will undoubtedly look at grad transfers to get us to the guys we're getting in '18. But they are going all out because Duval is better than any grad transfer that may be coming out this season.

If Young decides to go to Kansas, that will help us tremendously. It would probably be between us and Arizona then with us being the favorites

The thing here is that Duval has admitted the longer the process and the OV he takes the harder it's becoming to make a decision.

He repeatedly said it's going to be a business decision with consideration be towards:
- ability to be an impact player right away
- frequently on TV to be seen nationally
- place to get him to the league as a OAD
- opportunity to win
Not saying Kansas, Arizona or Seton Hall can't all do that but does sound like Duke meets all that criteria.

I am kind of surprised both Young and Duval are considering Kansas with Malik Newman eligible to play next year. I guess many teams, including Duke, have made the two point guard thing work well, but Newman's game involves the ball in his hands a lot.

Good point on Malik Newman. I totally forgot about that Kid once he played MSU he lost his buzz... Graham and Newman should be there back court next year... Duke needing a stud point guard makes Tre Duval more and more realistic and the talent that he will be surrounded around is similar to his highschool level team at IMG they are super loaded as a team.
Hope we land this kid has that kyrie/Rose effect on the game
