some serious L's hung on some teams that were hyped all week on this board

Andrews over Northside
Page over Wake Forest
East Forsyth over Independence
Morehead over Havelock
Walkertown over West Montgomery
North Davidson over Scotland

I know other Triad teams won big 2nd round games but I mentioned these because I saw a lot of chatter from the teams all week who eventually took an L

Yessir... The Triad area will always be relevant, full of contenders every year.

I think Forsyth county is a little relevant, even if they are playing "easy Charlotte teams", Butler beat Indy 31-0 in a rivalry game, east beat them 49-7.

Northern Guilford also will advance to the third round, with yet another trip to Fayetteville and sultry Hay Street, where Terry Sanford and his herd of number one seeded Bulldogs await the flock of Greensboro Birdlings, a thirteen seed.. Maybe the Seeding Committee had broken into the Elmer's the evening the seeding process transpired.

I'd like to make a motion to let Mister Simmons prepare the brackets, and grant permission for the Seedling Committee to proceed with their java and Krispy Kreme delights.

A few years ago, Governor Purnell, after attending the athletic event in Fayetteville , the Management Trainee Squad at the local Waffle House had a miscommunication issue concerning the tally of our dining bill. A trusted member of our traveling convoy will humbly reimburse yall a free pecan waffle upon request.

GSO
Got it!
By the way if you though wish not to have this happen anymore, I would suggest to sit on "The second Floor" of the Waffle House and ask for Fairness on The Edge(its a discount code). Once you experience that moment of history, you may grasp why I left the previous Waffle House near Hay Street.

Be sure to leave a tip so that I can acknowledge your thoughts.

Butler score against Independence is very irrelevant. That's a rivalry game. That's like West Forsyth playing East Forysth. I personally believe EF has a damn good football team this year, but saying we beat a team worst than Butler. Does not make you relevant. You would know this if you had been there before............

The fact that this thread was created I believe shows the inferiority complex some in the Triad have. By some that does NOT include Dudley, Northern, or Andrews as they have actually gotten the job done and won titles.
As for our friends in Forsyth county, man you guys are grabbing at anything to prove yourselves. WE BEAT INDY WORSE THAN BUTLER!! Does that really matter? No, not really. Beat Mallard Creek or Hough and then we'll give you the respect.

Nobody overlooks triad teams, although Guilford County carries most of the weight.
The Charlotte-704 metro still has the best teams and most title wins/appearances from 2A-4AA in this century and since end of the last.

No one overlooks Guilford county. They have proven themselves with Northern Guilford, Page, and HP Andrews all winning titles since 2011. In Northern's case it's been multiple titles. However, when was Forsyth County's last title? I think it was the early 90s with East Forsyth, but I could be wrong.

lol poor Forsyth county. I give them credit for most improved triad team the past 5 years. They're showing up more often late in the playoffs. Part of High Point is in Forsyth county if that counts for anything lol.

as for triad they forgot about Reidsville(Rockingham cty) btw.

Easy to improve when you have open enrollment and can get any player from anywhere without them having to sit out a year.

I want to comment so bad but I will let my eggs hatch first, but I will say this I wish Butler or Mallard Creek was at the top of that bracket and I promise you it would not be a East/West matchup this week. If Page beats Richmond this week they would have passed the test in the east. The top 3 teams in the west bracket were all in the same Pod, In this order Mallard Creek, Butler, and then Hough. But hey that is how the cookie crumbles. In the east it was Wake Forest Rolesville, toss-up Richmond/Page and Jack Britt. Good luck to the rest of the teams because if your still playing Thanksgiving weekend then you have a heck of a team.

You just couldn't stop, you had to bring that up. Ever thought lack of middle school football in Forsyth might have something to with it. No development of big men, no where for them to play do to weight limits in youth football.

This should just be Guilford vs Forsyth thread. The triad is much larger than just those two. Let's not forget Reidsville and the Alamance Co schools led by Cummings

Can't Catholic schools scholarship and bring kids in from anywhere. Not aiming that as an insult, actually thought that was the case.

No, Catholic cannot give scholarships and any student that comes to CC from another HS must sit out a full year all 365 days before they can play sports.
Also the fact that Forsyth County has no middle school football is a joke and I believe needs to be addressed immeditaly.

I know Parkland won it all in 2001 beating Crest and I believe Carver won a title around that time as well with Coach Wilkes.

Yea... This being the thread I STARTED let me make sure I clarify. This is for the COMPLETE TRIAD AREA. Including everyone. Yes CC/Honda -we are ALWAYS RELEVANT. Honda and Catholic have very short memories. We always carry relevant teams as an area. And by way of me being on here for well over a decade and seeing all of the bragadociousness of the 704 area I believe it was time for the triad area to stand up and get some love. One thing you can count on is we will always have multiple teams making noise. Whether you throw shade at that or not Honda and WHOMEVER else does not discount the fact that you can't discredit this area's accomplishments. Of corse, not only this year, but we have had consistent successful teams since the beginning. And if corse I hold a special place in my heart for Guilford County- But please believe this post is TRIAD LOVE. It's ok, dry your tears and change your diaper, everyone goes through ups and downs... Lol

The team Catholic plays Friday night is 5 miles from the Forsyth county line, I would certainly call them Triad. Let's not forget Thomasville. I know the other ones are always talking about the 4AA schools but cc14 brought up the smaller schools.

I brought up HPA cause theyd won it all since 2011. However, different peoplevsee the Triad as different areas. Some as said include Rockingham and Alamance Counties, and some people I know don't. Just a personal preference thing it seems.

I don't believe CMS is the richest district in the state, but they have it.
Also forgot about Carver and Parkland, thought Carver was in Guilford county for some reason.

I do think CMS schools was going to drop ms football several years ago because of funding. Have you seen what the current NC legislation has done as far as funding for public schools. An extra $500,000 in just start up money is not just laying around in most school systems. They just can't raise their fees like a private school can.

The above is the official view of the piedmont triad area... FYI... (This is all in fun btw) but you really mean to tell me we "haven't been there before," or "we aren't used to winning..." Lol. Wow

Do you even realize that High Point is even in Guilford county? You thought WS Carver was in Greensboro. Carver has only been around about 60 years.

Never said you arent used to winning or havent. This started about East Forsyth and it's been awhile for them. Not necessarily a while for everyone
