Triad vs highland

I stand corrected. Maybe Triad is not good this year. I know Highland is not as good as previous years.
I wouldn’t say Highland is down down. Definitely not the same team it has had the last three years. Losing a lot of skill but still very big and experienced up front.
2 of 3 losses are to undefeated teams in Mt Zion and Marion. Both games were close and Marion won in the last minute.
I have feeling Highland will draw east side early in the playoffs unfortunately.
* Game note - Highland won the game and only threw the ball one time last night. Very unusual of Coach Warnecke but looked like he came in with a solid game plan and executed

Sounds like a solid game plan. I’m used to Highland running the table. The lost to Mascoutah kinda made me think that they are rebuilding this year. Didn’t look like the normal skilled team. I’ve always been a fan of their football program and wish they played some better competition during the regular season. I’ve been waiting on them to finally play ESL... just don’t think this is the year they'd want to do it.
It will get real come quarterfinals and semifinals. They will get tested. Hopefully we have enough gas to push thru. Its all of nothing for the Flyers in 5A. Anything except a championship is unacceptable.
We will have to see. Montini and JCA are great programs. I think they will give us a challenge. ESL has lost twice to Montini in previous years
Yeah the Mascoutah game was a tough loss. Couple of plays that fell Mascoutah’s way and their big RB Wills is a stud. He has been out since then from what I hear with a concussion which may explain them faltering against CM and Triad.
The freshman has been coming along nicely. He had probably averaged double digits pass attempts coming into Friday’s game. Just weird to see Triad have more pass attempts then Highland!
ESL will be tough for anyone. Someone will need to have long possessions and score every time to keep ESL off the field (and that probably still won’t be enough).
