Due to the recent July 1st implementation of the transformative House vs NCAA settlement, which includes direct revenue sharing for athletes, TrueNU has made the difficult decision to close its doors effective August 1st, 2025.

Just got the email.

TrueNU, you did good work

No good. We're going to be lapped hard by the other schools who are supplementing House with further NIL dollars. I continue to think our school and booster stakeholders don't really get it.

Isn’t NU’s leadership battling the Trump administration like Harvard?

they may be busy with a more existential threat 👀

I read an article on ON3 that said Trump was signing an executive order eliminating third-party payments to players, so wouldn't that eliminate the effectiveness of so-called NIL collective (TrueNU included)? Maybe they saw the writing on the wall.

I'll take "executive orders that don't mean ****" for $200, Alex.
You do realize that “Executive Orders” are now also “Commands to Congress”, right?

ReTrumplicans will lead their districts after the golden cafe into oblivion.

They are too spineless to oppose Trump, just like their followers are too dumb to realize he’s screwing them.

Thank God I voted for the Green Party.

Maybe I'm wrong but it occurred to me that as a private institution, NU will have more ability to not to disclose donations and how they are allocated. Sort of like Illinois has to disclose their head coach's salary but we always were guestimating about Fitz's financial package. Maybe True NU didn't have that ability.

Actually NU has to disclose its highest paid employees. Fitz, Gragg (!) and Collins are all public information. The latest available filing is 2022.

How has nobody bothered to pull the 990s before???

Alos, we should have called Fitz Coach Patrick William Fitzgerald the Second.

I requested the 2023 990 from the NU Tax department and got it same day. In 2023, Fitz was paid $4.1 million and Collins $3.725 million. With the contract extension Collins must be over $4 million now. Good for him. At least he's paid more than his highest paid player, which might not be the case for David Braun......
