I doubt you have the slightest idea what is going on. Trump is so far ahead of folks like you in a business sense that even keeping your mouth shut exposed=s your ignorance. Shut up and allow the business man (and his chosen business associates) to do their business related jobs. May be first time in modern history that China is getting push back from someone who actually understands what is going on and they are at a loss to deal with it. So, why not just shut up, and go back to sweeping up the peanut shells in the elephant enclosure.

It doesn't sound like you understand tariffs either or you'd be critical of Trump for trying to mislead the public by saying that Americans aren't paying for his tariffs.

How do you know he understands trade, tariffs, the strength of the dollar or ANYTHING related to this topic? We have a strong economy, full employment, and inflation is in check. (I am sure you never said that when Obama was POTUS) I realize the need for fair trade with China. I actually like the fact that he is pressuring them to play fair. He should. He also should hit them hard for stealing intellectual properties. But at the end of the day, this is a big risk for him as POTUS and one that will weigh heavily on the back's of average Americans.

By the way, where is the USA going to find the labor willing to create these widgets cheaper than they can be made in China or any other country where cost of labor is vastly cheaper? Just curious......But you want to limit legal immigration and stamp out illegal immigration but want more jobs to flow back into the US?? We couldn't not possibly staff them today with unemployment at 3.6%. I don't understand that equation.

Most of my family are Trumpers. They literally believe everything he says. They refuse to question or research anything.

Two words: Ro Bots. We can’t compete with their cheap labor without robotics. US jobs will be inventing, developing, manufacturing programming, installing, and maintaining robotic systems. Going to robotic systems doesn’t really work for China. They need low-skill assembly jobs to keep their population under control.

Not uncommon problem for that era. You fall to note that he used hi business skills and recovered quite nicely. Half truths always expose half-wits!

You might not know this but large banks didn't and still don't want large borrowers to quit paying.. They often "worked out" loans with terms very favorable to the struggling borrower especially back then. Nothing was necessarily wrong with that. It happened all the time as accounting rules were different and almost encouraged creative accounting.

Maybe one of these banks also arranged for Russian oligarchs to buy your condos and oceanfront mansion to improve your cash flow....... Maybe those transactions were pure coincidence. Who knows. Or maybe he was able to manipulate his net worth to secure additional cash to pay outstanding obligations and weather the bad times......Maybe Michael Cohen lied about this too and that financial statement used in an attempt to buy the Bills was created by Cohen just for fun. Who knows.

Can you imagine the adverse impact robotics could have on the future of unskilled US workers???

Time surely hasn't passed me by but it is getting close. But there are still some decent jobs available if you are willing to move to them. Greenville SC for example.

It's just flabbergasting to watch the liberal, socialistic left actually root for the communist country of China over the United States. China has been ripping the world off for years. The U.S. finally has a real president who is willing to stand up to them. The socialistic left's hatred and team-oriented political views have them rooting for communists over their own president. It's just unreal. Of course, standing up them will make things a little worse before it gets better. So what? We've got to stop letting them walk all over us. They're just used to past presidents letting them rip us off and they're throwing a temper-tantrum. If we keep letting them have their way and letting them rip us off, the future struggles we will have will be a hell of a lot worse than what anyone may think the tariffs are causing right now.

uh huh Trump is praying that China folds but Trump is up for re-election next year not Xi so China can play the long game if they have the stomach for it. Trump the deal breaker needs a deal bigly. The longer it goes on, the more it hurts the U.S. economy, farmers and it's likely that the stock market won't respond well either. Trump won't see Xi again until G20 in late June so this could easily go on through the summer into fall. Stay tuned for Trump lies about how the U.S. isn't being hurt.

Rick Helfenbein, CEO of the American Apparel and Footwear Association, said his industry was "beyond freaked."
"(We are) sitting around feeling like we have just bought tickets for the second sailing of The Titanic, the only difference now is we know exactly where the icebergs are," Helfenbein said on CNN.

I don't mean this to be insulting, but it is actually sad how stupid you are.

You and they seem to miss the point (or it is too advanced for 'your' comprehension of its finer points.) Must appreciate that there are short term effects and long term ones. Like weather, we cannot predict the long term effect based on what happens short term. We universally see this pattern with small children who lack skills and experience that allows more advanced comprehensive thinking/reasoning. Some,, especially those who are willing to mislead for the same of an agenda and political bias never learn or accept that maturity and growth are not only anticipated but expected as one ages beyond childhood. Too bad tha, for some, the lure of he biases and agendas prove too much of a lure and straight jacket.

That is the correct spelling of your in that instance. You should have used allow, the plural form, instead of allows, the singular form, to match the plural form of your nouns, skills and experience. It is sad that you are too politically biased to comprehend that you will be paying more for goods because of the tariffs and not China.
