The immediate Democratic response was obviously prepared before hand. The cardboard cutouts behind Beshear were nice; almost lifelike.

And this allows the Mexican authorities to do THEIR jobs and protect THEIR citizens. PERIOD!!!Except for the general humanitarian aspects for concern for life this is NOT one of OUR problems.

admit it haters he crushed it.

He said all of the right things. No doubt he hit a home run. However, I still have the "I'm from Missouri, Show Me" frame of mind. But, I truly was plesantly suprised and give him kudos for the presentation. * * * * performance

First job of the Liberals tomorrow morning will be deciding which gender they feel they are for that day and thus, which bathroom they'll be using.

After that confusing business, which God apparently forgot to make clear to them, then it's on to Trump.

Hopefully we as a country can come together & do what is necessary to fix our health care & immigration problems instead of playing with big donors balls....the ACA has some good things in it that helps us all we need to build on it ,make it affordable.
For the live of God immigration is not so hard ..fix the freaking border.....stop the flood....get rid of the criminal & help the good people wanting in ....no citizenship but a green card .....only a fool belongs to a political party , to me it shows a truly closed mind
Trump hit a home run..loved it .

It was his best speech to date and at parts at least sounded presidential. The best part for me was towards the end when he was talking about dreaming big and that resonated. However with his dreams, he is a disgrace as a leader of this country, his policies are both bad for the country and are unattainable and he is continuing to con the country with useless rhetoric. Supporters like yourself and the other Trump apologists will continue to ignore reality.

Wonder why he didn't talk about Hershey's laying off 2000 people, many retail stores are continuing to shut their doors and laying off thousands or other economic indicators showing problems on the horizon? I know you fools will continue to ignore it as well.

I didn't see a whole lot from Obama...after 8 years ....I didn't vote for him but I hoped & prayed his policies would work ...to me they didn't..now it's Trump's turn & I hope & pray his policies work , but I'm an independent I look for the good ideas from both sides & wonder why our representatives can't do the same thing ...

I especially loved the details on the new health care plan.

Very uniting speech.

The bar is now set so low that relative to that, he did better than expected. Now rambling about historic electoral college victories, no denigrating Muslims, no talking about how rich he is....yes, he did great.[pfftt]

I think his minions are just breathing a sigh of relief that he didn't insult anyone last night.

He frequently talked about the economic woes, the rusting out of the Midwest, shuttering of businesses. It's part of the message that won him the presidency. Now he's focused on solutions as he should be.

He spewed negativity that sometimes border on lies and other times are lies. You missed the point of my comment with your apologetic reply. He touts saving jobs when in reality what he touts is again a con job but while he is touting saving a hundred Carrier jobs, reality with so many other companies are shedding. And his policies are going to make things worse.

I'm calling ******** on that. Your investments didn't go up in the last 8 years? When the DOW went from under 8k to over 19k? You didn't make money on investments? That's just plain impossible unless you just left your money in gold all that time and finally put it in the market. For crying out loud, just 4 years ago you could have bought Tesla at about $30-$35 per share.

What we are seeing now is just a continuation of finally breaking 20K. Same thing happened back when we broke through 10K for the first time. It builds excitement and momentum for a little while and then things will settle out.

If you want to give Trump credit for the last 500 points since the election to put it over 20k, that's your prerogative, but it's a fallacious argument. The market almost always gets a little bump with a new president, regardless of who it is.

Over the last 8 years every economic indicator improved by leaps and bounds. Unemployment from over 10% to under 5%. The GDP from NEGATIVE 1% to over 2% growth year over year. GDP per capita is up. Gas prices are down. The housing market stabilized. We went from losing hundreds of thousands of jobs a month to consistent gains. None of that is partisan spin, they are all easily verifiable and quantifiable facts.

Exactly. These wingnuts act like the stock market just started a surge. Ignorance is bliss.

The point of your diatribe is clear. But to make clear how vacuous your post is Trump did negotiate with Carrier. They did alter their plans. Jobs that would have gone out-of-country stayed in Indiana. Are you suggesting he's responsible for job cuts at Hersey? If not, why would there be any expectation he mention them? This is just another angry rant without substance.

Are you saying that he is responsible for all of the things he is taking credit for?
I mean, if he didn't do anything for Hershey, and therefore isn't responsible for job cuts, why is he somehow responsible for the successes of other companies he had nothing to do with?

Because there is a clear connection between his policies and their decisions.

Ex-Clinton volunteer slammed, loses job, after swipe at widow of fallen SEAL

A former Hillary Clinton volunteer drew swift condemnation -- and lost his job -- after mocking the widow of a fallen Navy SEAL who was honored by the president during his congressional address Tuesday night.

Dan Grilo, who said in his Twitter profile that he was a former volunteer for both Hillary Clinton and President Barack Obama, made the remarks after Trump paid tribute to Carryn Owens. She is the widow of U.S. Navy SEAL William “Ryan” Owens, who was killed in a counterterrorism raid in Yemen last month.

“Our veterans have delivered for this nation—and now we must deliver for them,” Trump said, eliciting an extended standing ovation from the entire chamber for a visibly emotional Owens.

“Ryan died as he lived: a warrior, and a hero – battling against terrorism and securing our nation,” Trump said.

While widely regarded as the most powerful moment of the night, Grilo was not impressed. Responding to a tweet from L.A. Times reporter Matt Pearce, who noted that Owens was crying and overwhelmed, Grilo tweeted:

“Sorry, Owens' wife, you’re not helping yourself or your husband’s memory by standing there and clapping like an idiot. Trump just used you.”

The tweet quickly zipped around social media as commentators on both sides of the aisle were outraged by the swipe. Donald Trump Jr. called the tweet an example of “hatred from the other side."

Grilo followed up, apologizing for what we called a “poorly worded tweet.”

Grilo’s account soon went private, and was then deleted entirely. But the tweets were saved and archived by other Twitter users.

Grilo’s LinkedIn page says he works as a principal for the Chicago-based Liberty Advisor Group. But as of Wednesday morning, Grilo’s profile page on the site had been deleted, and the company later confirmed that an employee had sent what they called "an offensive and inappropriate tweet" regarding the Gold Star family.

In a statement, the company said that while the message was from his personal account, "his comments were inconsistent with the Company's values."

"Regardless of whether the comments in the tweet were intended to cause the hurt and anger that they ultimately generated, they were unacceptable to us, and the individual who issued the tweet is no longer affiliated with Liberty," the statement said.
