Like the war on drugs, they will find other paths to the US. How about our wide-open border with Canada?
Um....ok? It's the world's longest 'undefended' border for a reason....I'm not sure what you're expecting...Mexicans making their way thousands of miles to Canada only to turn back south for the US? Or us Canadians crossing The Great Lakes in canoes weilding hockey sticks angrily demanding you purchase more Labatt's Blue?....:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Trump's next promise is to build a one-way super highway from Mexico to Canada...and he'll get Canada to pay for it. :)

Lol...nothing would surprise me anymore!

In all honesty, we watch up here for the great theater, but more importantly because as such HUGE trade partners ,when America sneezes, Canada catches a cold...
Trump while interesting is all over the map, but then you look at the other candidate's and it becomes clear to my eyes anyway, just why he's stayed in the thick of the race...Cruz seems over the top melodramatic, and the consummate politician, never mind the fact he's highly annoying imo...I originally thought the Carson fella seemed reasonable until I heard he wanted to put National Guard troops on the Canadian border of all things....what about Kasich? He seems at least somewhat a level headed guy and still hangin around...curious he hasn't gained more traction. Is there something in his past that leaves him less than desirable? Just curious. ...

Lol...so did we for awhile. Till all the sordid crack video's etc...actually the one of him attempting to speak Jamaican patois with the workers in a 'Steak Queen' fast food joint was highly amusing! A must see...if you have not I will try and link it for you Dvl...
You shoulda seen all the pomp and circumstance surrounding good ole Robbie's funeral too...he was popular with some apparently till the bitter end...

Hey look everyone!!! It's a giant red herring!!!

First, and I think a very crucial point, the southern border and its protection isn't being sold as anything other than stemming the flow of illegals coming in. Millions of Canadiens aren't trying to come in and even if they were, they certainly aren't coming in to do the same kind of work which is impacting jobs in this country.

From a terrorism perspective, I'll agree, you can pretty much just walk or sail in from Canada. It's not hard.
I've flown some counter drug missions up in Idaho and Montana. Really can't tell a difference of where one starts and the other stops. However, we aren't discussing the flow of drugs (there is a lot coming from BC), we aren't talking about stifling terrorism, we are talking about slowing the mass number of people which isn't an issue from the Northern border.

And the arguments that the discussion has anything to do with race and skin color, pffffft. Fall harvest isn't for another 6 months. Put your straw men back in the shed.

The average Mexican worker assembling vehicles or making parts earns $7.79 per hour including benefits, according to the Center for Automotive Research. That's substantially less than $37.38 in the U.S. and $39.04 in Canada. You appear to be a smart person, you do the math.
The " hourly federal wage",in Mexico is 89.an hour..So,for them to make that kind of $$ down there, they're "living the high life"..so to speak..

Do they have unions in Mexico? It sure looks like they need them and Mexico looks like fertile ground for union organizers.

Talk about a straw man - something is being harvested in the Deep South and California all the time. And not everybody picking those crops is here illegally.

Did you just choose a post to reply to at random? What was my straw man?
