Not a huge basketball follower, but you watch any cavs game and it always looked like Lue was doing more of the in-game coaching.

Congrats to Tyronn, sounds like the only reason they got rid of Blatt was so they could hire him.

Interesting that this happened with them in first place in the east, and days after getting ***** slapped by Golden State. I'm sure LB made the decision for the GM.

Cleveland wanted a do over on the coaching hire ever since LeBron decided to come back. Blatt would have never been their coach if they knew LeBron was going to be back and he was lucky to have ever got the job in the first place. He was well compensated and will land on his feet. Plus, it was obvious him and LeBron didn't work well together and I think it was smart to move on from him.

Lue has gotta be stoked right now. Goon for him, I hope he has tons of success there, and then has a desire to come back to Lincoln if/when Miles hangs it up here. Yeah I know we're a ways out on that but if people can talk about Frost as our next FB coach before he's even coached a single game as a head coach, then so can I with basketball.

I'm so conflicted. I love Lou. I want him to be successful. But I am not a LeBron fan and I hope he never wins another title.
Happy for Tyron but he's actually coming in to a bit of a tough spot. Anything short of an NBA title will not be good enough given where Blatt got them last year. That's a pretty high bar for a first time head coach.

Lue is a complete no win situation. The expectations are through the roof, mid year change with the first half of the year the easier schedule according to ESPN, no head coaching experience and the rest we can all figure out. What will be his measuring stick for success? NBA Finals or nothing less than a Championship? I don't follow the NBA anymore but this is a difficult task ahead. I would not want the job but hey, I am not Lue.

The Cavs will win the East, but I can't see them beating Golden State or San Antonio in a 7-game series.

The NBA is run by the players as much as any other sport. Especially with LeBron on your team. The key is the relationship these two have. Keep King James happy, keep your job.

Glad for Lue but he went from the "backup QB" to the starter with a Diva as the WR. It's a tough spot for him. Hope Lue does well but not sure what he will do. The talent isn't there to get a title.

Well he does have LeBron. I'm guessing every assistant in the NBA would be ecstatic to be in Tyron's "tough" spot. He'll be fine starting with he'll have the team on his side. IF and when his run is over in Cleveland, he'll get recycled and wind up on some other team's bench especially if LeBron is able to carry them to the final four a time or two with him sitting there. Its the way it is. I just laugh when I hear people say what a genius Phil Jackson is. The core of his genius was that he got to coach MJ and then then some of the other best players of all time with the Lakers.
