Road game against a ranked opponent. Great resume builder if we want to make a case for the 2 seed line when selection Subday comes around. Really wish they would have beaten Kentucky as I don't much care to face them coming off a loss just like Texas didn't much like seeing the Mountaineers in Morgantown after that KSU loss.

Pretty sure we played Texas after KSU loss

Exactly. My point is a comparison that playing a good team in their house when they are fired up after a loss is a tall order. Hence I don't like the idea of going to TTU after a loss to Kentucky just like Texas didn't like what happened coming to Morgantown after our KSU loss. Better for us if TTU is all high on themselves after beating Kentucky

Can't beat em unless you play them.

WVU defense is superior to Kentucky. If we want to compare ourselves to the top of college basketball, well then we need to go in with no fear and get the job done. If not, well then on to the next. I would prefer a 1 or 3 seed myself.

We were never going to be a 2 unless the board is forced to do so.

More 2-0 conference weeks rather than 1-1 would be nice, especially if we want a 2 seed and not out west, last time as a 2 seed in the east worked out ok. I'm not at all impressed with Tech scoring points so it we can be allowed to guard and not live in foul trouble all day we should get a quality road win. Might take a 15-3 or at least 14-4 conference record and good big 12 tourney to lock down that 2 seed if other teams ranked ahead of us keep winning, and several of them teams play in much weaker conferences so should keep winning alot

I know!!!! Let’s just worry about who’s next on the schedule. Elite 8, 2 seed, final 4 ......

didn’t last year teach anyone a lesson?

Huggins Heroes are at the point where the other team has to be concerned about facing the WVU defense and rebounding. And the Mountaineers have learned, from the Kansas State game and if they're noticed how many Top 25 teams have lost to unranked teams (about 70 by now!), that WVU has to do more than walk out onto the floor and scowl. The Mountaineers have to play better than their opponents to win. Nothing is a gimme in college basketball, even a team that beat 3 January foes by an average of 31 points! Winning by 11 in Waco counts for NOTHING when the teams meet again in Morgantown. Every tipoff matches two 0-0 teams for that night! Go get 'em, Pitbulls!!!

WVU has a huge size advantage.

Haven't watched Tech in a few games.
Don't know if their only true big has been getting minutes.

Don't know what happened in the Kentucky game but Kentucky has enough talent to get pass a team who will try to outwork them or be physical.

Just like WVU saw with K State.

I would be very concern with how Tech feels about this game.
I think they need a win truthfully.

The Mountaineers have to play better than their opponents to win.

More than that....

WVU was absolutely embarrassed last year in Lubbock.

WVU used this to fuel their game in the Big 12 Tournament.
Tech used that game to make their Final 4 Run. Chris Beard made sure every player knew what they did wrong and the players remembered it

Going to be about who wants the game more...
Been that way the last 2+ years when WVU has played Tech

I am always truthful here.

It is a game I think WVU can have issues.

1) Players cockiness
2) Tech's resolve
3) on the road

If Tech comes out looking for a fight WVU has to show they will outwork them.
Teams who are winning sometimes don't have the edge.
On Huggins to create one.

Players saw what their cockiness can do when they went limp in Manhattan, Kansas. On the road is the biggest issue for WVU in this one.

WVU can out work anybody. I smell TVZ wanting a WVU loss so he can post more often.

But the players mental state changes from game to game.

I doubt they will go into Lubbock overconfident. If they do it is because Huggins is setting them up for failure.

But I see that against Oklahoma State and not a team like Tech.

I do think they can match your intensity and outwork you.
Any team can be outworked...
Even a Bob Huggins WVU team.

Another dig at Huggins and WVU players.

WVU already ***** slapped Oklahoma State.

The Texas Tech game will come down to a last possession game for either team. looking at numbers shows WVU as a 2 point or less favorite. So a pick' em.

How is that a dig at Huggins?

He has full control of the team.

But saying his teams can be outworked is the truth.
That is how you lost in the first round to SFA.

Didn't realize this team played SFA. Fairly certain none of these guys were on the 2016 team except Harler and Routt.

Just to easy to slap and hook you.

That is on you if you want to waste your time.

Point was a Bob Huggins team can be outworked.

Not a dig at all.

If you had any concern about this whatsoever that is where it will be at.

Especially considering how the last matchup went.

He keeps throwing out this 13 for 50 number which makes no sense. It's either made up or it's from a slumping period. Which is stupid. It's like dogging on a .333 batter in baseball because you can pick out a 5 for 50 at bat run during the season.

WVU should pull out the win tonight, unless of course, as TVZ claims, Huggins decides to lose the game 'on purpose', just to make a statement to his team.

The team chooses to win or lose.
Huggins attempts to control what the team chooses

Ultimately it is on the players. Any person who knows coaching will tell you this.

Tonight...
I wouldn't say WVU should win this game no matter what the team looks like.

They do have an advantage on the inside.
But Texas Tech needs a win. Chris Beard has showed when needed he can get his team up for anyone.

My gut feeling is that we lose this game. If TT has won that Kentucky game, I would feel a little better but they are out of the top 25 and are trending towards legitimate bubble status. However, if WVU can win tonight, I wouldn't want to be Kansas State because we will throttle them on Saturday.

You can explain it to them, but you can't understand it for them...your post was clear...
