Lot of good games. Kansas picks up the W. St. John’s taking belt to *** of Baylor so far. Hopefully we get our crap together. Not looking forward to playing them/UNC/or even Indiana(shoot me)!

Hopkins is a hell of a player. I wish we would have re-recruited him.
Zaga handling Bama last night doesn't help either.
St. John's did lose to Iowa St. But ISt is good.
Nobody should be griping about our schedule because we're about to run a gauntlet of Q1 games.
While I've given Houston a fair share of praise today I will say something.............
and this isn't a "huge" thing but it's something IMO....
Slow pace teams have a tendency to be more susceptible to upsets. More possessions means more chances for the better team to spread the lead. Lower amount of possessions = less opportunities for that to happen and so teams tend to stick around.
UVA losing to a 16 seed (then returning a large portion of that team and winning a national title), Wisconsin teams under Bo Ryan etc etc.
I mean don't get me wrong, UT is a good team and Houston will be fine going forward (they were 4-3 last season at this point).........just something I feel is important to note tho.

UT is surprisingly good(to me anyway); old man Barnes doesn't miss a beat.
Yup, this upcoming stretch will make us or break us. We either get it together and get some huge wins and momentum, or we crater for good IMHO.
He sure finds some dudes that always know how to play. No high ratings for the bench guys but they are always big and athletic and team guys. The way they were together after that win and general demeanor of the team was awesome. I wish we had that like last year’s team.
If Pope ends up failing here, we should make a run at Dusty May if we can’t find a way to get Oats. He is young and his teams plays well and a fun style. Plus he’s made a final 4 already.

Anything can happen, but I don't see how this team beats Gonzaga or St. Johns based of what we have seen to date. Both teams play hard and physical for 40 minutes. Don't think we can hang with them.

Just about to post the same thing! Based on what I’ve seen this week, we’re not in the same class as these other elite teams! Now, it’s only November but we better get our **** together in a hurry. UNC is a MUST win next week, especially with Gonzaga looming
Let’s just beat Indiana, at least. And even they look like they might kick our ***. They blew out Kansas St.
IU worries me. They will play way over their heads and rankings never mattered in the past. I have a bad feeling about this game.

Travis Perry is playing less for Ole Miss than he did for KY. He's struggling to find his shot. Rebels in a nutcutter with Iowa right now.
Never understood what Beard wanted him for. No offense to the kid but he’s a traffic cone and Beard is a defensive coach.

Depends on your goals for the season. Entering SEC play losing to UL, MSU, UNC, Gonzaga, St Johns, and Indiana will have NCAAT seeding consequences that won't be as easy to make up during conference play.
It appears the top 10-12 teams are very strong this year, if the goal is to make the elite 8 or better, not sure that gets done as a 7 seed or worse. Path will be too difficult.

i think the tourney is volatile enough that even if we barely make it we have a chance, obviously i don't want that because that means we are bad in the regular season, which i never want
Hard to care much when we suck and don’t look like a team that is legit to make a run. The expectations are so low folks will be happy with an ncaa 5 seed before it’s all said and done.
People complain we're going to become Indiana. Just wait till IU beats us in Rupp... it's gonna be a meltdown here.

He made it very clear publicly last time that he won’t even entertain us. Why even bother?
As I have said before all of them have really good point guards and rim protectors. They also all play really good team defense. Things we don't have right now. If that changes we will be really good if it doesn't we will struggle.
While I do agree with you Pope would rather not repeat his nonconference showing, BCG's first year is actually a pretty good demonstration of how long a season is.
Man got his butt whupped up one side and down the other all nonconference schedule, then abused the SEC and won SEC COTY. Would have made some tournament noise at a minimum if PPat hadn't broken his foot.
The man's a saint I tell ya. Every other coach in the country wants to D stroy us. Beard at least hands us some comic relief.

Chris Beard teams usually play defense which is why I can’t understand why he likes him so much. We all know he won’t play much against good teams or teams with athletes.
I hope this ages very poorly (but have enough reason to believe it very well won’t).
