I have wondered. He doesn’t seem to have the same explosion he had last year. I am somewhat expecting him to shut it down before long so he can have surgery and be ready for the combine.

Umm, no. He has said himself, he struggles with playing hard all the time. That’s the issue, not some fictional need for surgery.

Turf toe is a difficult injury to manage, so I’ve tried to give him some benefit of the doubt. He’s clearly not even trying in some of these plays on film breakdown though. If that’s the level of effort the injury is limiting him to, then he and the team would probably be better off if he didn’t play for a bit.

At this point, Oweh has had plenty of time to heal between his injury and the start of the season. He's shown some of his old explosiveness this year, too.

Some. Not a lot.

Turf toe doesn't keep a man from raising his arms on defense or cheering for his guys when something goes right. I think it really just comes down to a senior getting paid big bucks who is trying to showcase for the NBA at the expense of the team. Oweh has been the single greatest disappointment for me since the Shaedon Sharpe debacle, and 00 is putting Pope's job at risk on top of it.

Pope is damned if he plays Otega and damned if he doesn't. Garrison too. Both had much higher expectations coming into this season and both seem to be riding their laurels for a paycheck. I genuinely feel bad for CMP because what the hell is he supposed to do about two veterans not doing half of what they did last season or are capable of doing?

Maybe 00 kicks his own *** into gear and ends up making a difference, but so far, he's dragging this team down *hard*. Not a bit to do with turf toe, IMO.

I hate ragging on any of our guys, but at a certain point, a spade is a spade.

So if he can’t play hard, is he hurt or loafing? I would rather give him the benefit of the doubt that he is still hurt as opposed to being lazy or at best nonchalant.

Play Johnson if he’s hurt. It takes total 110% effort to play at UK cause you get that effort out of teams you play. When I watch him play it just looks that that total recklessness playing style has disappeared. And it’s can’t be just NIL

Oweh's injury may be an issue but its way layers down compared to his selfish, toxic body language and selfish attitude which exhibits lack of effort. If Oweh is playing with turf toe then why isn't MoD playing?

I had turf toe several years ago and I can confirm it didn't effect my will to do my job. Difference being, I had to put in the hrs to receive a paycheck and mine were significantly less.

Who would've thought sucking at basketball or being popular on social media was more valuable than being an engineer? Guess I'm getting old. Get off my lawn!!!

Anyone think 00 , he may be playing hurt. Turf Toe can really slow you down
Sure!!! Because everyone knows that Pope is well known for making players play injured…

Said no one who has ever watched a single second of how Pope handles players with even the slightest injury, real, or made up out of thin air!

No, hes getting exposed bc last year there were numerous other scoring threats that opened everything up for him.
