When KPP was built, I was under the impression that Vandy had the only other SEC stadium with artificial turf. Now I see that Tennessee switched to Field Turf in 2019. Is it still just those 3? And is it mainly because of latitude? If that were the case, Missouri, who is as far north as we are would have turf also, but as far as I can tell, they still have grass.

Pretty sure Missouri also has turf. Weather certainly plays a big factor. Also easier to take care of and less expensive long term.
I know this sounds strange for major school facility. But I believe Mizz is still turf infield only and natural grass outfield.

Nah. State is definitely natural.
A lot of places have at least done foul territory in turf. Where the water gathers more and there is more foot traffic.
I found this: https://mutigers.com/facilities/taylor-stadium/3 it says "Surface: Kentucky Bluegrass (OF) and Baby Bermuda (IF)". I had to look up Baby Bermuda on the internet, and it is a natural turf.
Yea but pictures show turf on the infield. So not sure if they went away from it or to it. Lol
You're right...my bad. Could have sworn I'd watched part of a game there recently and looked like turf.
