My guess is they found better NIL deals . Sad

Gamecocks offensive lineman Oluwatosin Babalade announced on social media he was decommitting from South Carolina, citing needing more time to think about his recruitment.

Isaiah Jatta announced his decision to back off of his Gamecocks pledge and reopen his recruitment.

If players are getting paid and have no loyalty, do we still have to treat them as kids? Can we give the criticism now?
I know not all the players lack loyalty or are dishonest. Some actually believe in doing what's right.
Hard to figure.

Ohio State missed out on a 5 star recruit because they could not pay him even half of what he was looking for. They didn’t get him over $750k.” -@davebiddle on 97.1

Further nugget: “UGA offered the kid 1.8M to sign and 800k/season... OSU couldn't get him more than 500K”

Jatta was offered by CSU this week.

After the historically good end to the season, it’s been rough couple of weeks. Be interesting to hear what Shane has to say at his presser tomorrow.

We should be rolling with as much momentum as just about any team in the country. Something is wrong that we're not hearing about.
Couldn't agree more. What is happening. This is bizarre. Teams must truly be stepping up the money game and the kids are now holding them hostage. Thought we were developing a sweet spot of recruiting with the Maryland/DC area. Hate to see this two big's go graze in other pastures.
But if Maryland is where they end up then WTH?? Is Marshawn recruiting this kid's there?

It's ok. Dodged a missile. I do not want any players on the team that doesn't know what the word "commitment" means. Just another kid with no character, no morals, and zero integrity.

Makes you wonder not so much if he is recruiting him as if something did happen to make Lloyd leave did it run his HS coach wrong who then steers this guy elsewhere.

It may get to the point the only offers will be going to the experienced talent that turns up each year in the portal. Trying to sign linemen out of high school may become passe. Break out the NIL cash or get left behind.

And so does on paper and eye test potential B.S offensive coordinator hires!
And how are all our little tater friends today? All you recruiting addicts are going to need an asylum with the wide open NIL cheating and unlimited transfer rule. Wait til someone challenges the letter of intent in court and that gets thrown out too……it will be the wild west for sure.

Good point. I'm usually pretty hesitant to call out specific players when things dont go right. That may be a thing of the past now.

When some of these "kids" are making , quite a bit more than most people on this board, I think treating them a little differently is in order.

(The uga rumor had a "kid" offered 1.8 mill to sign and 800k a year. Cut that in half and he's still open to be called out, imo)

Yeah I've never had a problem calling out coaches for being idiots or whatnot. Very little seperates them from the players now.

ya mean it is in fact okay to judge poor performance and/or lack of effort??? Been my thinking since NIL began. I Don't quiet have the same love I had back when a Bruce Ellington was on our team. A Kid with Heart. If you think about it Lloyd made his mind up after the MO game to protect himself. And I think Beamer knew it. Kid holding out half the season to capture his NIL in Mary land. Because of a thigh bruise-Huh?? Let's see- we paid for his education, probably paid 100k for his state-of-the-art knee surgery that allowed him to come back and play with pay. I don't hate the kid, but I don't admire disloyalty. NIL is already affecting high school kids as you can clearly see. I read somewhere Babelade sat out many games this year due to soreness!?! huh? Prolly outweighs the other kids by 50 lbs. a player. Trying to secure that NIL. It is already out of control and ruining the spirit of college athletics.

Anyone notice where one of them went yo high school? Same high school as Marshawn who just went in the portal. Coincidence? Probably not.
Yeah, Babalade is Marshawn's b***h.

Marshawn such a great guy. Loves USC. Loves us so much he's sowing seeds of discord with our recruits.

As you know, I am good with kids transfering and normally understand why they are transferring (such as Bell). I don't understand Lloyd. We are losing a ton of potential with Lloyd but with his health issues, very little production.

True. He played healthy here for all of about 7 games over the course of 3 seasons. Maybe he'll go somewhere else and blow up, but, you are correct, that it's not a crippling loss from the standpoint of production. He wasn't a difference-maker for us.

Why is it when someone posts their opinion and doesn't happen to agree with something. They are automatically a tater.

Georgia got him for more than $1million. Meanwhile, our third-party NIL clearinghouse plan has been blown up by the NCAA. I do not see how we are in position to compete for the most coveted athletes unless we come back strong and soon on the NIL front. Our leadership has misfired on this and I'm not talking about Beamer, either.

Please elaborate, I didn't see anything about the NIL suffering a blow.
