One of two things could happen at this Maui Invitational.

1. This team gets smacked and loses embarrassingly badly to the better competition they will play.

2. They somehow turn the page, find some MOJO, play with some heart, and play much better to either win a game or two or at least make it close.

I'm hoping for the latter but I just don't see it happening right now.

Love the optimism on the second option. Hope we win some games this year. Almost feel bad for El at this point. Dude has no help.

team is not that bad. might be able to cause problems later in the season. we need some adjustments.
1. fixing Kamari's shot so we have another shooter.
2. modify KP's 5 pass system. too many passes leads to more turnovers, indecision, and shot clock violations.
Brandon can score anytime he wants so he doesn't need to pass it back.
3. more cutting

I did not see any cutting in 1st 10 minutes. I turned it off in disgust. Jaelyn needs to have Thanksgiving dinner at home.

Too much passing and over thinking. Also the passes we’re making aren’t leading to buckets. Too much perimeter passing and pointless screens from the bigs who aren’t cutting and moving to the basket enough. Can’t stress how much of a letdown Curry has been thus far. Also thought we’d see some of Devin Ree to help with outside shooting woes. Low and behold, he hasn’t played at all, neither has Fabio. “They’re not ready” is a lame duck excuse when we’re already getting torched each first half by mediocre D2 caliber schools. The coaching needs to step up along with the intensity. In game adjustments have been non existent in the three regular season games I’ve watched. We need to get our **** together, or our crowds will get worse than they already are. I hope we turn it around. Go Cards!

The whole concept of 5 passes and reverse the ball before you shoot is supposed to be accompanied by cuts and movement, false actions to get the defense in rotations-then a driving lane or cut is open. We just make a bunch of passes and stand there, or move casually. It kills me.

Maybe the change in scenery and the uptick in competition will be a good thing for this team. Yeah I know it's loooong shot...

Problem #1 in Maui is that we play Arkansas who is up tempo and an offensive juggernaut. Given our distaste for playing defense it could get really ugly quick.

Putting any number on the amount of passes on eachpossession is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard of. That's something you can do in practice to learn ball movement and screening not during a damn game.

I wonder what the Fan Duel over is on Arkansas dunks…..10 I am taking the over.

I hope they don’t get destroyed but with their effort level and head dragging I can see multiple 20 point losses. The biggest concern is they won’t recover from the beat downs if they occur.

We will see, I expect better effort since they know what they are facing.

I have only watched snips of Arkansas but they appear absolutely loaded.

And they have that established system running on all cylinders.

If the Cards don't lose that game by more than 20 points I will be surprised.

If the Cards somehow are in that game then that would be a positive, it would be shocking to me it pains me to type all this.

It figures to be very hard to watch.

Honestly, I hope we win every damn game if we don’t win a game at the invitational but if we loseI hope we lose every game until the Kentucky game and ******* beat their ***!

Manning needs to step in and get Curry engaged in the half court offense. This perimeter passing must include a lot more going into the low post.

More like a change in scenery both geographically and competition wise and losses of WAAAYY more than 1 point. This is a disaster so far. I hope it changes but if he thought the IARP was a recruiting hindrance...what does he think other schools are saying about his NIL comments?

I don’t see a scenario where we win. I think 1 of 2 things happens.

We play better with a better level of concentration and more respect and pride taken and we lose by 8-14 OR we get absolutely blasted, El takes 20+ shots and turns it over 5+ times and lose by 20+.

we can win if we cut down on turnovers. it's too obvious that Withers, James, and Ellis are going to drive to the basket. if you cut them off, they will turn the ball over because the other guys just watch.

Yeah, I think we see the UofL jersey and can't believe what we're seeing from that jersey these days.

First few games were annoying but you always felt like throughout the fingernails on the chalkboard the games would at least go to the wire and maybe we could win.

I think these next two games are going to be tougher to hang in there as fans because it's just rough watching that scoreboard when the games just are not close.

There's just so much less to feel good about when you're blown out.

I hope I'm wrong. I really do.

Like I said earlier, I hope the Cards can keep it close or by some miracle actually win. I have to be honest though, if they get blown out every game and come back still winless it will not exactly be surprising but it will be deflating.

I would love to see all out effort from these guys and some improvements in the fundamentals department at the very least.

I saw the -15.5 this morning and thought hmm…. I don’t like it. The Cards team we’ve seen play so far this year could easily lose this game by 20+ points. This team could play better and still lose by 20 points to Arkansas.

That said, I think it’s under 16. No other analysis, I think they do enough to keep it under 16. Cards come out like we’ve seen… flat, low intensity to start and Arkansas is able to take advantage and make some shots… oh well.

Until they all start to contribute, there is no expectation on my part to see success. There is no explanation as to the absence of Curry and Wheeler asserting themselves.

It was 26 and could have 40. Looks like that will happen today....

I actually appreciate the guys leaving no doubt.

Nobody likes being strung along.

Now we are fans so we will tune in, or try.

But these guys made it clear there ain't much dog in this fight so no need to waste your energy on it.

Just hope nobody gets hurt and let's see what happens when the season is over.

As a wise man once said, it ain’t the dog in the fight, it’s the fight in the dog. This dog is a total pacifist.
