1) The expanded CFB playoff makes me feel even better about rooting against the Big Ten. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Michigan and Iowa lose.

2) JJ Watt did his first NFL regular season color commentary for the Steelers-Jets game. He may already be in the top 3 in the business. He really did a fine job.

1--disagree completely--I think it matters more than ever because of seeding now they got rid of the dumb byes were tied to conference titles. Bad for us but still not upset about Michigan losing.

2--agree completely--I thought it was an interesting decision to give him the Steelers game but he did a nice job of really not talking about his brother.

Our oldest son’s HS classmate, Yogi Roth,
& Lackawanna Trail graduate, was color
Commentator for the FIU game.
Former walk on with Pitt and former assistant coach with USC during the Carroll regime. A fine gentleman. His QB in HS, John Glenn, was
a LB at Franklin’s college, East Stroudsburg, and eventually wound up with Carroll as an LB coach with the Seahawks, then Commanders last year and is assistant LB coach with the Raiders currently.

So cool. I love stories like this.

I root for PSU , not the conference unless somehow a team from the Big Ten will benefit Penn State by winning. If the loss is a better thing for Penn State I want them to lose. I don’t care about other teams.

I am with you 1000% Joe! I never understand why a PSU fan would ever root for OSU, UM or any other Big 10 team to win. It never, and I mean never, benefits PSU when those teams win. We are competing against them on the recruiting trail for talent. Does anyone think a perennial 6-6 OSU or Michigan program would recruit top 5-10 classes? If there was a way every Big team outside of PSU could go 0-12, I am all for it.

Yes, JJ was excellent. Calm, thoughtful, insightful, articulate. Gives props but not over the top.
I did get a laugh when they showed a side-by-side with the play by play guy. JJ seemed to be a foot & half taller.

Yep, I want Penn State to win. Maybe for some reason I’ll watch a college football game other than Penn State and I might just pick a team to root for in that game. But really it’s Penn State for me. I want them to win and I don’t care what other teams do.

I saw JJ Watt play in the WM pro-am golf tournament a couple of years ago. He is absolutely massive.
