Because there is not bitching over and over about the same things on the basketball board? Getting ready for your time out on this board after game 4.

Getting Ty Berry is a good start and people will still find negatives. Hopefully, today is a day where people can be happy.

I’m concerned about Haywood’s silence. Hope I’m wrong but I would have expected a tease in the last week or so.

He typically corrects himself when there's a change. He hasn't corrected himself.

Love the ability to change gears with the ball and get to the rim. Like that he can hit both the standing 3 and the 3 off the dribble. One nitpicky thing from the various clips above is that they are all quite right-hand heavy. He may need work to develop that lefthand or teams will learn how to shut him down.

I like the reasonably quick outside release. So many of these kids have a release that you time with a sun dial.

Fingers crossed.

I would love to root for Ty the next 4/5 years when he gets on campus. I think he is smart as well as he is athletic- would be a great get for NU bball! I hope he chooses NU for sure! I could see about 3/4 more young players choose NU soon as well once we get Ty!!

Is Christie identifiable in the videos at some point against Ty Berry?

No. Those game videos aren't public, just the box scores/stats.

Mashburn Jr from a couple years ago is likely to end up at Minnesota.

Here's Ty's KC Run GMC team playing Bryce Thompson (#3 jersey, Ranked #19 in 2020), Trey Phipps (#0, Oklahoma commit), and Dayten Holman (#5)'s OK Run PWP team this spring:

A nicely skilled pup with some quicks, some handle, some scoring and a good IQ. But a definite lead guard fly weight at this point. No way he holds up against BIG competition until he adds 15+ lbs. of good muscle.

Like I said before, happy to be getting him on the rebound from the Joe Bamisile disappointment.

winston at msu is 6'1 185 - berry is listed at 6'3 - 175 as a junior so i'm sure he'll be fine

Sounds like he's already putting on muscle.

Great get for NU!

Don't forget, some of those clips linked above are from his freshman year - in fact several of them were. If you look at the video Lou posted of his announcement, it is clear he has put on some muscle.

There's a video of Ty's commitment on NU's Twitter feed that shows him working out in the weight room.

"Lead guard fly weight" is not supported by the video. Can't think of another NU PG who has come in that built.

The more recent videos show that he has gotten bigger and stronger and is also playing above the rim now. That all said, I still would like to see some video where he uses his left-hand more. I'm sure he realizes this and is working on it.

Great. He obviously got the same message I posted and is doing something about it.

He looks pretty big in the video, it's worth a look. Word is that all the other videos online were from frosh/soph year.

It's good news, IGNORE! Feel free to be happy.

Very true. I think it’s interesting that they were trying to land both bam and berry. First, which was expected to be the primary ballhandler. We need off point handlers too - just wondering if berry is expected to be more of a 1 or 2.

Which brings me to next point - both are clear guards. Wonder if CCC plans to leave one guard and three wings to return to two guard and two forwards in the near future.

Still have two open slots. Would to see at least one more commit and then another transfer.

I think Collins is just trying to get the best guys he can get regardless of position (apart from the nominal Center), as long as he has one true point guard. At this point he can't be very choosy.

I disagree w at least one part. Should always have at least two legit true lead ball handlers on the roster, preferably a couple years apart. In my perfect world, Buie starts and Spencer proves to be legit ball handler backup, not a Turner / Gaines type. Greer redshirts to get time to add muscle and practice time.

My concern is that you are right and they don’t recruit to need. This year should have been ball handler and big plus best available. Is Berry that ball handler?
