His position coach is still there so who really knows? It may give Bama the inside scoop.

Wouldn't the position coach be up in the air as well, depending on who is hired as the next coach? JP better get on it and I'm sure he will.

Orgeron had a chance at Ole Miss and it didn't go so well. It's possible that he's grown as a head coach, but I would be fairly surprised if he was handed the reins of a major program permanently until he demonstrates success at a non power five team or lower level power five team.

Some would say he did ok at USC as the interim and his recruiting can't be disputed....dirty maybe but he get's after it. Ole Miss resources when he led that program left a lot to be desired compared to what he would have at LSU. LSU is going to have to throw a bazillion dollars to get any of the names I've heard that don't end in iles.....

Orgeron might well have what it takes to have great success, I just wonder if a major program would take a chance on him after letting a coach as successful as Miles go.

I will be surprised if Briles doesn't end up there in some capacity.

It's possible, but given the attention that campus sexual assault gets now, I don't know if a school, even a prominent SEC football school would be willing to hire him as a head coach. You might well be right about "some capacity" though. They wouldn't take nearly the heat for hiring him if it was as the OC.

There is a certain percentage of people who want coach O. I'd be shocked if he wasn't kept on the new staff at the least.

I think Herman, Petrino, and Jimbo will be about as far as this search goes.
