Joe Thomas HOF OT felt it was more useful of his time to go fishing with his father instead of attending the draft. I totally agree with this approach. Use your time the way you want. Pro Football will become your life and you don’t need to be there. Of course some players enjoy all the hoopla and attention and that’s fine. To each their own.

Smart move for any player, imo. If you're picked early you get to answer stupid questions from stupid "sports reporters" and if you fall below projections, you get to look disappointed and dejected on national TV.

Why does any player go?

Unless you’re in a room full of your compadres, watching any draft is duller than I am. On a side note, I do remember a funny quote from a high NBA draftee whose name I can’t remember. When asked what life changes he was going to make, he replied: “The only thing I’m going to change is my phone number.”

The draft is in Green Bay. And we all know Wisconsin is a barren place, especially in April. It's like Czechoslovakia.

So your girlfriend can become internet-famous… ask Will Levis.

Though they’re no longer together, I believe
