How do expect Pope or any coach to just go get Tyran Stokes to commit. Stokes is not stupid enough to just come here because of a huge payday. Many schools will and can offer huge paydays. I think Stokes has several boxes he needs checked. 1. pay, 2. development, 3. winning, 4. great chemistry among teammates. How many of those boxes can we (UK) check? Be honest, but I only see one box and not 100% positive we actually can fill the one about pay. I know we can't offer the other boxes. Sad times!

Pope is not going to get nearly the NIL money he got last year. He is in a Cal situation in that the boosters are cutting NIL funds. He really is toast and in a no win situation.

I agree with you and the comparison with Frost. Pope is not Pitino and Frost wasn’t Osborne. They both won as players and knew what it took to win at the University. Problem is they can’t recruit and teach the players to win and have heart about the university. They both want it more than the players but they are/were over their heads and if you don’t win you have to go!

Apparently it is not.

Exposure is offered by most teams. FL, Bama, Auburn, TN, TX, Vandy, MI, MI St, OSU, UConn, and many many more have every game televised. Duke, Kansas, UNC possibly get more exposure than us the past several years. I don't think exposure is an issue that kids worry about since everyone gets exposure, if anything most teams are over exposed.

Pope is doing the best he can. The roster wasn't great to start with and the injuries have robbed us of our best PG, best 3 point shooter, and best defensive big. There isn't a lot that can be done to turn this team into a FF team with those injuries.
When we lose a game on the road to a ranked team that is just better than we are, you guys lose your mind like he should be fired on the spot. Nothing is going to change the fact that we have a limited roster the rest of the way and will have to scrap for every win. None of that changes the fact that MB isnt firing Pope this season and likely not next season. He didn't immediately pull the trigger on Cal when he started to decline and he sure as Hell didn't pull it on Stoops. Unless MB is replaced, I think Pope will be here 4-5 years minimum no matter how loud tge calls for his head get. Not saying that is right or wrong, just stating the facts of the situation. There are a lot of reasons for it and fans are justifiably angry. I don’t see a magic button fixing it this year.

Not this season, but I think next year has great potential. We have a lot of Fr and Sophs who will take another jump. Folks are in a panic because we don't have a 5 star and are pretending there won't be a ton of immediate impact players available in the portal

Who recruited the roster? Who coached the roster? Who paid 3 million dollars for a big man coming off major surgery? Who brought in one PG after last seasons debacle? Every single thing that happened this year outside of Kam Williams injury is on Mark Pope and this staff. Even making Lowe the PG1 was a chance because he was injured all last year as well and he’s built like a small child compared to the rigors of SEC play.
