I have faith in Rickie Fowler. I know he didn't qualify but he is gonna work some magic.

Theres not much time to watch on Peacock BUT if you do want to watch at those times i believe you just go on and subscribe to the premium $5.99 a month and then cancel Sunday night. Just a heads up for those Peacock times. I probably wont care about much of it but i see a couple slots id like to watch, so i may subscribe myself.

I've won my work Masters Draft and PGA Draft this year, so going for the 3rd Leg of the Slam.

I picked 2nd of 6, no serpentine draft this morning:

1- Rory
2- Sam Burns
3- Shane Lowry
4- Matthew Fitzpatrick
5- Gary Woodland

Fitzpatrick is obviously a good player, but that quick swing makes me nervous.

This Mickelson press conference is a train wreck for him. I’ll give him credit for doing it but he clearly cannot explain why he has done what he has done. Would respect him more if he just said he took the money which is exactly why he did it.

Phil, Bryson, DJ, Na, Sergio, Reed, Louie, .....brutal late/early times. Maybe too obvious as to not give some of them an early/late.

I assume the reason the PGA is against this is the Saudi connection to 9/11?

No. The PGA Tour is against it because they don’t want competition and want to control professional golf.

A lot of the public is against the LIV and the players joining it because of the Saudis horrific record on human rights. 9/11 is part of it for the public but lots of more recent things as well.

The PGA Tour is so much better that it was in Ben Hogan's day. He got down to like $35 out in a tournament with his wife in California. Told her if he didn't make some good money there, he was gonna pack it in. Won the tournament I believe.

That is a very short sighted statement, and essentially inaccurate.
No it’s not. But in your contrarian world if everyone on here said fire was you’d say it was cold.

If you believe the PGA Tour wants a competing tour that can potentially undermine their product and that they don’t want to control professional golf then you’re just flat out wrong.

I know there is zero percent chance it happens, but for entertainment's sake, it would be insane if Phil M finally got the Open.

Finally got around to watching the entire Phil US Open presser yesterday. Two questions I would have asked would be,
'Why not just move over the Champions Tour, play 3 day tournaments, make some money, keep your legacy, and play on the PGA Tour/Majors when you want?'
"You have said the PGA Tour is greedy. What about yourself, and LIV golf? Are you greedy?"

No, I am 100% correct.

A competing tour has no bearing on any of this, but the LIV is not a tour. It's allowing the players to turn their back on what made them who they are, and essentially use the PGAT schedule at their whim.

When you sign up w/ the PGAT, you abide by their rules and regs....your company would not allow you to go work elsewhere if it interfered with your commitment to them. You would have to say goodbye and seek life elsewhere....as the LIV players have done.

Here's a good article about what is required to maintain Euro status if you want to play on the PGAT. You must compete in a required # of Euro events. This is probably what PGAT should have done w/ perhaps a larger # of required events.

The PGAT and EuroT signed a strategic allegiance recently to be able to work together in all of this. Google it.

The LIV circus is nothing more than a series of high priced exhibitions, nothing more.

Hate to say it but UKO is right on this. The PGA Tour is a not-for-profit but it's still a business with a board of directors. And most don't realize it but they coddle the F out of the players.

LIV hasn't done anything to actually enrich the game and they don't even have a scoring system. There is no benefit to the Tour to align with them. Everyone that plays on the PGA Tour knows the deal.

The two biggest LIV homers are a jilted ex and a gambling addict. Solid foundation and certainly two that should be heard when talking about the ills of the greedy Tour.

Good questions. Its all about the money, thats it. He's putting a scar on his legacy over MORE money when there would have been plenty to be had on PGA and Champions Tour over the next 15 years and sponsors. He's pissing on the past guys who built the PGA Tour because he had a damn gambling problem. Fact. Hard to believe he's doing this.

The comments from the players today has to make the defectors think hard. I’ll predict one will come back of this first group.

You say things that don’t make sense. It is most definitely a competing tour even if it seems like a series of exhibitions. Their goal is to be an alternative to the PGA Tour, I don’t see how you can deny that. Whether it will succeed is definitely up for debate.

I know the requirements for PGA Tour status and have read a lot on the requirements they have to do. I agree with you that they could have done something other than suspend the players, but increasing the required number of events, for example, also forces all the players who didn’t leave to maybe play more than they want to play. And the players ultimately control the Tour so that may have been off the table.

And I don’t know how to respond if you seriously think the PGA Tour didn’t take this action to try to quash the LIV be cutting off the defectors from playing on Tour. We can just agree to disagree on that.
