i liked hearing dee say DT told him his conduct in the kaniev match was “unacceptable” as well as DT relaying all the dirty crap he had to fight thru in international wrestling

very few men can mentor Dee like DT

gonna be fun to watch this thing matriculate into olympic and world gold

Glad that it sounds like he was receptive to the constructive criticism and didn’t seem too down on himself going into folk style. He’ll definitely need to work on not getting frustrated, because a guy like Messenbrink can and will exploit that to no end.

McEnelly is an f’n animal. He’s going to be a beast at 184, and I hope he stays at Minny his entire career. Him and Ferrari are pretty clearly the top of that weight class, although hopefully Ryder has something to say about that come March

He’s got a little growing up to do. But, if he keeps that attitude, he’ll do well

100% on McEnelly. But man is it just me or is everyone sleeping on Radamacher and what he can do next season at 197? Willie at least has him taking second (crystal ball predictions) and I believe it.

Dani loses to the girl from Japan who was very crafty on the edge. She'll compete in the bronze medal match tomorrow

Yeah, I could have sworn I saw he was wrestling for bronze, but he must not have won, or I had a stroke and made that up, because I never read anything else about him.
He lost in the second round of repechage to the pre-tourney favorite and eventual bronze medalist Baghirov. He was down 4-2 with 30 seconds left and gave up some late takedowns/turns to lose 10-2. He was in the match most of the way and seemed to make a tactical error in the 2nd—he had Baghirov in a cradle on the edge (similar to the one Picc pinned Spencer Lee in), but drove him forward out of bounds instead of running the cradle sideways for exposure/potential pin.

Had an argument with a guy one time about cradles in college.

My take was that youre either a cradle guy or your not 90% of the time. I told him I couldnt count how many times Ive seen D1 wrestlers get a guy in a cradle and not know which way to take it. He said I was stupid and that all D1 guys know which way to take any cradle regardless of what position theyre in. That of course makes zero sense to me as I see guys all the time locking up cradles and not doing anything with them (especially side cradles). Having an idea in your head which way to take a cradle vs. really knowing and being able to actually make it happen are two vastly different things. Cradle guys the instincts and training take over and its often automatic. Non cradle guys sit there with a blank look on their face while the coaches scream at him telling him what to do.
