According to Benjamin Royer of All Bruins on Fan Nation, Bruins are still in the game for the four star QB who has been pledged to U of L for 10 months
UCLA is on the upswing under Chip Kelly and L may be looking at a coaching change from the hapless Satt
Adidas $$ at play big time here, why they are putting $$ in U of L football is Baffling to me
I don't know if UCLA is Nike or Adidas
L fans have been crowing about this kid ever since his verbal as the guy to turn the program around, would be devastating if they lost him
we shall see

UCLA just had a BAD breakup with Adidas

Logical the kid is looking around, doubt it is the Bruins

Feel like a lot of factors would have to go wrong for him to not end up at Louisville, he has the Adidas money and already started his own business and brand based on Louisville

Under Armour but you are correct about the nasty break-up. They did switch from Adidas a few years ago though.

I’m perplexed as to why Adidas is pushing for UL when they have other bigger name bigger brand schools; Texas A&M, Washington, Miami, Arizona State, just to name a few+. Why not push top players to those schools? Why UL?
I remember seeing some article that said despite Louisville not being the biggest brand or name that Adidas has, they have the biggest deal with Adidas, and I would guess with all the connections Kenny Payne has with Nike, he wants the school to switch to Nike and Adidas is trying to funnel money into football program to keep them locked in with them

Also having the QB commit's dad being an Adidas spokesperson helps

His highlights aren't that impressive. Average speed for D1, average arm strength for D1, he's onlly 6'0". He throws a pretty ball but I don't know if that's enough.

Lamar Jackson used to attend Steve Clarksons QB Retreats

Steve Clarkson is associated with Adidas and Piece Clarksons dad

Pierce Clarkson created his own brand Flyville I am assuming through Adidas

Some of the current UofL recruits have already signed with Flyville and others have been promised deals once they sign with Louisville.

Thats the Adidas connection to Louisville, it originated through Lamar and Steve Clarkson. I dont know if the $$$ is all that much or if it is the appeal of having their own deal. DeAndre Moore is the top WR who has allegedly already signed but is the recruit that seems to be looking around the most currently.

They'll lose a few recruits just like every school does on signing day, but right now, most of them seem pretty "bought" in. Even if they all come, Satt isn't the best developer of talent and his recruiting has been so mediocre, it still might take them a couple years to get to 8 wins.

Louisville and Adidas agreed to a 10 year $160 million dollar deal in 2017 and the actual deal took effect the summer of 2018. Not sure if it still is but at the time it was the 2nd largest apparel deal by a college team.

Now as for Clarkson goes I don’t see him going anywhere else. Sure may may lose a commit or two as it happens at every school. I just can’t see Clarkson going anywhere else with everything he has already going on with Louisville. Some of them still have official visits they can take and I am sure they probably will take those visits. I think DeAndre Moore (WR) is probably going to visit Georgia & Texas. While at the same time Louisville will have recent Auburn commit Jamarrion Harkless on Campus this weekend along with 60 other football recruits.

If you can’t beat them, (have your athletics sponsor) buy them (in a last-ditch effort to recoup some of their horrible investment they made in you).

Basically bought and pre-ordered players simple as that. And have other on layaway through the same set up. Its like the fruit of the month club.

Something going with their class, we going to have one of their CA commits visit.
I believe you are talking about 4* WR DeAndre Moore who is planning visits to Georgia and Texas. He still had a couple Official visits he could take so he is going to take them.

I think these kids are learning to position themselves for a strong negotiation. All these top 200 players committing to UL has never made sense. Ill be surprised if they keep 2 of them.

Flip watch article from earlier in the week linked below, about a third of it is on UofL commitments. I’ve always thought they would keep Clarkson and about half of the 4-stars they have committed, but if UCLA somehow gets him to flip that class will completely fall apart and they are going to be in really bad shape considering how little talent is on their current roster.
