I'll be there. I think more PSU fans than UCLA fans will. be in the Rose Bowl.
Yep, I'll be one of them too. Figured this would be the start time too which is nice because there's also playoff baseball that night.

I see Tim Skipper 🤷‍♂️ is the interim coach.
From what I saw last Sat. they should fire their DC as well.

I’d go if ucla wasn’t so suckful. Weird way to spend 72 hours
Plenty of cool things to do in southern California over a long weekend. Tailgate in great weather on the golf course. Plus, you can buy good, cheap seats in a beautiful stadium with great views of the San Gabriel Mountains. Finally, a "never in doubt" easy win by the Lions. Post game beverages and dinner in Old Town Pasadena. Perfect weekend.

The Tgar list of where to dine covers a lot of ground. Some local hiking trails, an afternoon at The Huntington, lots to do. Lots to eat. Lots to drink. Hopefully there will still be a Mexican hotdog cart or two in the vicinity. Fingers crossed.

The match up doesn’t merit a prime time night slot so 3:30 pm is better than 12:00 pm.
Never said it merited a prime time slot, simply that it’s the same as our trip to USC last year. A 330/1230 start on the first Saturday in October in LA.

And for the record, I think the B1G has said there will be no noon/9am kickoffs on the West Coast for teams in the eastern time zone.

I’ll be there too. Never made it to any of the PSU Rose Bowl games. About time I saw the stadium …..Care to share the @Tgar list of dining options? We’re staying near Old Town.

I think this pretty much firms up the Northwestern game to be on BTN. We need one conference game to be on BTN and given our opponents this season, it would be one of the weaker teams and it’s going obviously not UCLA so either NW or Rutgers. And the schedule is robust enough the weekend we play NW that the networks could easily let PSU slide down the pecking order that weekend

Old Town has a good restaurant search website that I just started going through. It’s laid out well with restaurant links.

something for everyone all day, every day….

Was planning to go to Yosemite too, but .... Potential government shutdown may put the kibosh on that. The park has private concessionaires, so it might stay open.

Well, I'm wrong. NW/PSU is 3:30 on FS1. Guess that means the game with Rutgers will end up on BTN.

I live in Pasadena and could provide some...

  • Union Restaurant (on Union in Old Town)
  • Mercado (on Lake)
  • Wild Parrot Brewing (my wife and my local beer hangout)
  • RT Rogers (great brewery in Sierra Madre)
  • Uuvo (on Lake -- amazing Italian food)
I can provide more if you like. My buddy is flying in for the game as well. If you care to hang out for a beer, let me know. [email protected]

Moms and I are gonna help them get a house if they commit to LA (they are thinking Philly) I was shocked how low the taxes are. $800k for a 1k ss ft 2 br is nasty business.

But the LA hills have awesome small homes. They use the natural landscaping there very well. Can find mid-century gems like this (this is Concord CA but still)…

Loved this from a decade ago. Should have bought it.

The question is how lethargic will PSU be at the beginning and when (I hoping they will) will they snap out of it playing a winless team.
