So what happened to the aliens? Thought the govt was supposed to do a big reveal?

They've got to use the media to do the big push to get Kamala elected and then reveal the aliens. Duh.

Joking aside (if that is a joke), it is interesting to see the Bob Lazar stories from back in the day get some new traction. To me, the bigger story is about how the government and media are covering this as opposed to whether or not these are aliens visiting the Earth.

There have been reports, paintings, artistic depictions, etc of celestial crafts that occasionally visit Earth and observe (presumably) humans throughout antiquity. I don't see how these new reports are any different than what has always been reported other than the newest reports appear to have clearance from the highest levels of US intelligence (THANKS OBAMA!)

I would be far more scared if this is unknown technology from an Earthly source than aliens. If this is Chinese or Russian technology and they can fly unimpeded in our most protected aerospace -- America is screwed.

Here is my idiotic tinfoil hat bet -- the US government has some sort of plan to (1) introduce new technology that America has and can no longer keep secret, (2) acknowledge that the Earth has been regularly visited by things no one can accurately explain, which is especially important now since widespread technology available to regular people will presumably make such sightings more frequent and less deniable, and (3) tie both these revelations together by saying that Bob Lazar's story was somewhat accurate and the US government acquired what appears to be an artifact that contains technology we can't explain and that attempts to reverse engineer the technology have met with only limited success.

That would be a spooky way to set China and Russia back on their heels a bit since China, especially, is pushing toward becoming the world's only superpower.

While convoluted, that strikes me as the simplest explanation that I can come up with since there is something unique going on here.

Unidentified Flying Objects are real. That’s a 100% undeniable fact. The question is who are in them? And then you have to ask yourself which is a scarier idea. That aliens from other worlds are real and flying around in our atmosphere, doing anything they want? Or that another country has the capability to make our best fighter jets look like a horse and buggy?
I personally can’t see another country having that kind of technology and us not. Especially since we outspend every other country on our military.

Well, the report is a step forward.

It neither acknowledges aliens, but allows the possibility in it’s “other” category.

It acknowledges the possibility of our own government research and the possibility of foreign powers. Both of these theories are problematic: many of the reports are close to our top Navy ships . . . a few hundred feet, and one major officer has stressed that observations of them are made off our Eastern Coast “daily.”

I doubt the Chicoms or Russians would be Ballsy enough to fly top ish w/i 150 miles of our coasts . . . if it malfunctioned, and crashed, we could recover it.

Plus, if they have it, I suspect they would brag about it.

If it is DARPA and friends, why persistently buzz our own Carrier groups.

Perhaps the most honest portion of the report is it’s admission we might need more scientific knowledge to ultimately understand the phenomena . . . I’d say that is right.

So true. And even if we or the Russians have that tech, today, I doubt anyone had it 50 years, or more, ago!!

Yet to see a convincing video of a UFO. Radar bleeps and blurry videos aren’t very convincing

"Life Blinks in and out of existence". Drones will be here for a while and can do what has never been done before as they are not limited in protecting a human pilot with human weaknesses. Today is July 4th and Joey Chestnut will down 60 hot dogs. All things are possible. But UFOs and what is not yet known about aerospace and astronomy mirrors what is unknown in medicine and the life sciences. Alien life that transcends galaxies would not need to toy with our aircraft. All interesting in an interesting thread.

True, but we sentient beings trifle with bacteria, because we can.

Whatever has caused this controversy for 64 years appears to have the upper hand on the “what,” “when,” and “where,” and I cannot merely assume we are so meaningless as to not provide a “why,” for the activities.

We are currently exploring a telescopic means of determining whether planets w/i ten light years have liquid oceans and earth-like atmospheres. If our curiosity extends to that level . . . looking for the chemistry of life, elsewhere, why would I think others might not be so interested.
