Uh, how do we like Drew now?

Remember when Towles came in his Freshman year and led a touchdown drive against Miss State?

How that turn out in the end?

Pick 6... Not saying he didn't deserve a chance... We needed a spark... But this Is why the staff has been reluctant to make a QB change.

Not hardly. Barker is playing for just the second time for his entire college career on the road. He is just a freshman. That was a freshman mistake. Don't hold Barker to the same standard Towles is held to. There are many differences between the 2, mainly age and experience.

I didn't see the reason for that bad throw, but I can see your thinking. However, by far the MOST important thing is to play to win, the game is too important.
what a troll post.

Not a troll post at all... I'm a huge Kentucky fan and I think Drew is going be really good some day... Just saying that it's not as simple as many folks are making it out to be.

(As I'm typing this, our entire team and coaching staff just got punked by that trick play. I really like Stoops but he's digging himself a hole right now. That was embarrassing.)

I'd win or lose with him. Have to at this point.
LOL! This statement is so telling. Some fans are so clueless and hateful that they are satisfied to lose winnable games as long as they get their way and destroy Towles. How have we gotten here? We WILL lose this game with Barker, so I hope you are happy. Barker had a quick TD drive, but he also gave away 14 unanswered points in the 2nd quarter. The pick 6 was the worst throw in the worst possible situation that any Kentucky quarterback has thrown all year. The decision to throw on the deep left sideline to a well covered receiver on 4th down was another very poor read that ultimately cost us when Vandy scored again late in the half. We are now down by 11 points, and this game may be over now. But I will be far more fair with Barker than most of you have been with Towles. Football is a team sport. Kentucky's offensive line and defense are not very good. Problems with our offensive line were well known to us in August and will hurt every Kentucky quarterback, including Barker. That doesn't exclude horrible decisions, but it remains a problem. Patrick Towles has already thrown for about 5,000 yards as a Kentucky quarterback. Some fans obviously don't comprehend the significance of that level of production, but Towles is the #5 passer in Kentucky football history. We will see if Barker can perform at that level. If he can't, then Stoops has shot himself in the foot. In recent weeks, Kentucky has played poorly. If we are honest, a lot of that has been on our defense. But AJ Stamps is the only defensive player who actually lost his starting job for reasons other than injury. As far as I can see, Stoops panicked today. I am not saying Towles has been effective, but Kentucky was only behind by 4 points when Towles left the game. Now we are down 11, and our offense is really dead in the water. Dawson's play calling has become desperate, and Barker isn't executing. Our bowl chances are going down the tubes now. So I guess you are getting your wish.

Well, Barker has thrown as many touchdowns in one quarter has Towles has in the last five games. But, by all means, keep defending Towles and this joke of a staff.

I understand wanting Barker. I understand being dissatisfied with Towles performance. But why does he get a bashing that sounds like something you'd hear in a middle school hall? PT has made it to a higher level in sports than the vast majority of people on this board. He has not played well. Leave it at that.

Stats:
Towles 5-17 22yd 1 pick
Barker 5-7 60yd 1 td and 1 pick

Towles averaged 1.4 yards a completion.

Towels pick was in the end zone and Barker's was returned for a td. Both cost us the equivalent of 6 points. Look at the rest of the numbers. Barker has looked much better this game.
