You were complaining about the fact that stores are refusing to sell the flags. And that it doesn't represent racism to you. Sounds to me like you are defending it.
I will say this, you can buy everything you need off of amazon to make an IED, start a meth lab, or build a moonshine stil. Yet, the confederate flag is no more. It's comical to me as is people still talking about slavery 150 years after the fact as if it's the problem keeping AA's from prospering today.

Yep, you got me. I was complaining. I was also totally serious when I made the crack about NASCAR. Totes McGotes even!!!!!

Ya hypersensitive, jumping to preconceived notions, ***.

I was really shocked (and ultra impressed) with Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s response when asked about the flag. I expected either a "no comment" or a semi-supportive response. But for someone like him to come out and say it only belongs in a history book, and that's it, was shocking to me. Kudos to him.

Lets see how many of the Jim Bobs and Ricky Joes boo him at the next event.

Had to post the duplicate to get out.
The piece you offered this AM is probably where this discussion should end. The speaker said the flag had different meaning to different people. That well states my position. Too many people have entered into the debate over the years with fixed feelings that only one position is accurate. I wholly disagree with that.

Thanks for finding the video/speech and sharing with us.

How many people on here have a confederate flag prominently displayed on anything or anywhere they own a house? Just curious, I still have a few t shirts I still wear with it from southern rock shows and I think I have an actual flag somewhere.

When I was a teenager I had one covering the backseat of my car. But then I grew up, became educated on history, and got rid of it. Today it is being used more for antagonistic reasons than anything else.

I still don't understand the "heritage" argument. Our heritage belongs to ONE FLAG....the Stars and Stripes! Call me an ultra patriotic SOB....but that's how I feel. Flying the Confederate flag is not like flying the flag of your state. It's like flying the flag of another nation. One that was at war with us.

For example, after Pearl Harbor, what did we do to the Japanese in the US? What if people were flying the Japanese flag because that was their heritage? What do you think would have happened to them? Now, if you are either an African-American who had ancestors killed or enslaved or you are a super patriotic person that had a family member DIE in the Civil War, how would you feel when seeing the Confederate flag? That's my point.

The heritage aspect of stems from celebrating an entire generation of ancestors who fought and died. Whether you agree with it or what they were fighting for or not. Southerners are very much like WVians in that they are very proud of where they come from and their ancestral history.

My people were from the north and fought for the north, so I really don't have a dog in the fight but I understand the Southern mentality.
