"the list includes products ranging from various types of steel to television components, medical devices, dishwashers, snow blowers and flame throwers."

We don't even make our own flame throwers??!

Do you guys remember Reagan back in the mid 80's when he announced SDI? The strategic Defense initiative? It was called "Star Wars"...derided by media skeptics as too expensive and too risky and would set off a nuclear arms race as the Russians would simply build too many missiles for us to shoot out of the sky. It was laughed at, ridiculed, and scoffed at as too expensive and unworkable largely by the same Leftists who claim we can't "afford" a trade war with China.

What was the result of the SDI? The Soviet Communists had met their match. They couldn't keep up. They couldn't match us in either technology or weapons systems and they went bankrupt trying. Before the end of the decade, the Soviet Union collapsed under the weight of trying to offer guns and butter to its people. Socialism failed once again competing with a free market economy!

What makes you anti-Trumpers think the Chi-Coms (also a bunch of worthless Socialists) can outlast us in an all-out trade war? I'm not for tariffs, but if we go to war with China over trade and tariffs who is better set up to win it? America and our deep, rich, diverse, dynamic Free market economy? Or the Chinese Communists, who depend on us not only for their markets, but their technology and market for finished goods. They need us more than we need them.

Stop all the panic, and stop equating a central planned Socialist economy with the power and might of the U.S. consumer and our Capitalistic system. We will bury China any day, any time, anywhere, and they know it. They will blink first, and we will get more balanced trade agreements with them which is all Trump wants.
