It is a good listen. Cal problem is he over recruits knowing he is going to shorten his bench. It leads to turmoil. UK fans fall for the recruiting every time but fail to understand he is only going to settle on 6-7 guys.
Why all these top kids keep going there is unbelievable despite all the transfers that have done great once they left. They have 3 legit bigs sitting behind Oscar who was never going to come out of the game.

This is a really good point. It is amazing how many recruits still go just to sit. Cal over recruits intentionally with the thought or hope that he is going to be able to settle on 6-7 (sometimes 8) players that “mesh/gel.” Sometimes he miss evaluates talent (like all coaches) or is not able to get his teams or players to gel for whatever reason. I think this is one of the primary reasons his teams tend to turn the corner (sometimes not) around this time of year… he is able to settle on his 6 or 7 guys that “gel.”
The team he has this year with the transfers should be a solid team. He picked up some transfers and Wallace that can shoot it. They missed a lot of wide open shots last night.
I still think they will be fine, but SEC is better. The question is when will he make the tough calls on who plays.
Wouldn't be surprised if he makes promises about playing time to the handlers and family, and is stuck to some extent. Their FT shooting is real bad this year.

The funny thing is he kept his best players in the game against us until the end even though they had a 20 plus point lead.
